Question

Taking Progesterone when TTC

I had chemical pregnancy in July. My doctor said that my progesterone levels are a little low. She gave me an Rx for progesterone pills (not cream) and told me to start taking them the minute I get a BFP. I am 7DPO today. My BBT is looking great. Is it safe to start taking the progesterone if there is a chance I might be pregnant? I've seen a lot of people using the cream while ttc, but not much about the pills.

Are you sure your doctor wants you to take them orally and not vaginally? It's very common to prescribe the pills, but then direct for them to be inserted vaginally.

Once you ovulated it is safe to start taking the progesterone. Discontinue if you didn't get pregnant this cycle otherwise AF might get delayed for a while. Progesterone pills can be used orally or vaginally. If taken orally they can cause fatigue. Either way they are equally effective according to my RE. Best to you.
