Question

Birth control

I came off of the pill Mononessa on December 1st which was also the last day of my pills. I had my normal cycle of 28 days and had a period start on Dec 24th. I then had a very long cycle of 48 days and that cycle started on February 10th. I dont believe I ovulated that cycle. Well here I am on cycle day 15 and I started spotting yesterday. It was brown yesterday and it has turned to red this evening. Is this normal?

It could be ovulation spotting? (Google it, some people get a little spotting when they ovulate- something about the ovum bursting - I think) Are you using OPKs it charting to track your cycle?

Also it is more like my cycle started. Usually the first day of my cycle it is brown and my the end of the day it is red. Then on day 2 it starts to be heavy.

It's likely your period then. It's quiet common when you come off birth control to have irregular cycles. The pill basically tells your body what to do, so your body stops doing it itself. When you come off the pill your body has to start controlling itself again and it can take a few months for your body to get back into regulating your cycle.

Okay. Thanks. Hopefully it isnt. I just got off of it on the 16th. It would suck to be back on 8 days later. But there is nothing I can do about it I guess.

Spotting stopped 2 days ago. It never increased to more than spotting. Hopefully it was ovulation spotting.
