Yep my fingernails started growing like nuts and got a lot stronger. I've also heard that your hair gets a lot thicker. Something to do with the hormones I think :)

Yes! I always had thin nails that would peel a top layer at the ends. When I got pregnant for the first time 9 years ago they grew thicker and stronger! I hope the following is true for you but they have stayed that way ever since! I have perfect nails now, they never break and grow evenly, I can't trim them unless they are wet, I have to do it after they've been softened doing the dishes or by having a long shower. The trouble is....with three busy kiddlies, I rarely make time to do them so I just chop them short, what a waste! My hair gets thicker and better in pregnancy too, it just doesn't match that I feel like a beached whale! After the birth all the extra glossy hair I grow drops out dramatically at about three months after and is terribly thin until it grows back in to pre pregnancy ordinary again, that isn't so fun. :)

Yes! And I am so thankful! I have hypothyroidism and my nails and hair are very brittle normally. My hair has also started growing very quickly! It was just past my shoulders at the beginning, and now it's at my waist. I read that it's due to the increased blood volume and circulation, and your hormones.
There's an old wives tale that says if you're pregnant with a girl, she steals your beauty. Not in my case! My little girl has made me feel extra confident!

My hair and nails grew like crazy!!! I was so excited...however the funny thing is...I didn't know I was pregnant til a month and a half into it....I only noticed because my clothes weren't fitting right.....that's why I have such a hard time noticing "symptoms" because I didn't have any. Not even after the fact...no nausea, backaches, heartburn, absolutely nothing. It was crazy!!!
