Question

9 dpo and scared.

I'm sorry this is my third time posting, I'm just quite scared because I'm seventeen. I had unprotected sex on the eighth, and I'm 9 dpo today as of midnight. I've had symptoms like fatigue, bloating, frequent urination, nausea, tender breasts, and some cramping. But yesterday I started having pain in my hip, and tonight I've had pain in my back and my legs. Could all of this be a sign of pregnancy? I'm not due to start my period for another like eight or nine days. I really need advice, I still have about five days until I can test, so I'm stressing out.

There is a chance I'm seventeen too & that's how I started out with those exact same symptoms... now I'm 5 weeks & 2 days pregnant... it'll be best If u wait til ur expected period because if u test in 5 days it might be to early. Good Luck .

You can always try an early testing pregnancy test like First Response Early Result. They only work after the egg has implanted which is usually 5-10 days after you ovulate.
Do you have someone you can talk to? A parent or friend? Or your partner? It's important to have someone to share your worries with!
I can understand your concern as you are young, but take it one day at a time and don't let yourself fall into despair. It will work out :-)

A few things to set your mind at ease:
Even in the best case scenario for people who are trying to get pregnant (and young and fertile), there's still only a 25% chance of it happening on any given cycle. So in other words there's a 75% chance a young healthy woman won't get pregnant even though she had unprotected sex right around ovulation.

The symptoms you're feeling now are all from a combination of progesterone and anxiety. They will be identical in pregnancy and pms at this stage, so truly the symptoms mean absolutely nothing. PMS symptoms can change from one cycle to the next and there isn't a single symptom (before a missed period) that is different between the two.

You can take a test 6 days from now (take a sensitive one, not a digital test) and the odds are less than 1 in 100 of getting an inaccurate result at that point. You can take a test as soon as 3 days from now, just be aware that the odds of a false negative are higher the earlier you take the test.
