Question

Need help ladies...Hot mess over here.

Ok so I'm approx 5 wks 4 days. Last fri my hcg was 160 low but had been doubling in time frame. So they let me come back today they were drawn and we're 1927 they said great. Went to ER later because I was having pain and pressure on abdomen and they did an ultrasound and found no baby but no proof of ectopic. But here I am in ER sobbing lost with now no idea what to think and all they are saying is we can give methotrexate to be safe or we can wait and see. I'm ready to lose it...When did you have your first scan???

Do not take anything !!! You need to wait at least another week. Did the do an internal ultrasound ? At 5 weeks you should have a gestational sac and at around 5 and a half weeks a yolk sac and then around 6 + weeks a heartbeat. But you could of ovulated late or anything. Give it until and least 6 and a half weeks before you do anything. I've had 6 pregnancy with 4 m/c's 2 checmicals and 3 d&c surgeries, so I am an expert when it comes to m/c and this is all within 12 months. I would not be taking anything to bring on a m/c at only 5 + weeks. Keep us posted, hope this helps you.

Do not induce a mc at 5 weeks. First of all, did they do a vaginal u/s? Early on it is the best way to see anything at 5weeks. Secondly, I had my first ultrasound at 5 weeks and the only thing that could be seen was a sac. At 6 weeks they could see a twinkling of a heart beat that my hubby and I could barely see. At 7 weeks we could hear the heartbeat. Even with them pointing out the baby, I cannot see it yet. Do not trust ER to determine whether this is a viable pregnancy. Go to a obgyn.

I agree. The er did a vaginal ultrasound on me at about 5 weeks & told me I had a blighted ovum & was going to miscarry. Well, that blighted ovum is now 3 yrs old. ERS are notorious for diagnosing miscarriages. Talk to your OB before making any final decisions.

I'll be going back for a scan and to repeat quarts on Monday with my ob. So I guess we will see...hoping not a second ectopic.

They said there was a mass at the top of uterus but they couldn't identify what it was. Maybe ectopic maybe blood clot...but couldn't positively identify. They said it could be an ectopic outside of the uterus or maybe it wasn't. But that besides my hcg doubling there was no definite proof of pregnancy that with my levels being close to 2000 they should be able to see something. So they said they were sorry and that they could give methotrexate or they could wait and see. I'm going to my ob Monday but I just can't believe this would happen to me again. I've already had 3 losses this year. I just want my baby to be there.

I am so sorry sweetie. I wish there were words to help ease the pain. All I can say is that I am familiar with the pain you are feeling. Back in February, I was 3 months pregnant with what I assumed was a perfectly healthy baby. Already having an ultrasound at my OB and being told everything looked great, I still decided to have an NT scan. Turns out they found a condition called holoprosencephaly. I was told my baby had missing brain structure, wouldn't survive and I needed to terminate because the baby wouldn't survive. It was the hardest thing I've ever gone through but decided to try again 3 months later. I got pregnant right away, only to miscarry at 5 weeks. I am currently 5 weeks again, trying not to stress but after back to back losses, I know, it's hard to have hope. Don't give up, it will happen when it's supposed to and when it does, you will appreciate it so much more. I will keep you in my prayers, hopefully on Monday, you will receive good news. Good luck!
