In a normal situation at 5 weeks u will see a gestational sac and around 5 and a half a yolk sac, 6 weeks or a few days after a foetal pole and heartbeat. I would suggest you start with an HCG blood draw to see what your numbers are to then know if it's worth doing a scan. A scan can't hurt to at least have a look and see what's going on. Best of luck.

It's doubtful you're actually 14 weeks pg and just now getting a bfp. Most likely, your body was adjusting to going off bc and caused skipped periods, but at some point you did ovulate and you were able to catch the egg :). Most ob's who do early scans for dating will schedule it in the 7th week. The size of the baby will be able to give a good estimate at gestation and a due date. You are possibly between 4-8 weeks pg if you weren't testing between weeks 10-14. As the pp said, checking your hcg level will be a good start. They may want to confirm pregnancy that way before scheduling an u/s, or they may just take a quick look and see what's in there. It really depends on your ob. Mine would likely take a quick peek because they have an in-office sonography tech.
