Question

Do you plan out your sex life?

My husband and I work opposite schedules and it makes TTC very difficult... unless we plan out our sex life. I either have to go home for lunch or wait up until midnight when he gets home OR he has to get up at 5am when I wake up for work.

We are trying to make it fun by staying out of the bedroom and TTC in other places of the house because having a schedule of when we are going to TRY takes some of the fun out of it all.

Are we crazy or are there others out there that schedule it too?

We are REALLY TTC this cycle after tonight we have done the deed 8 times since my period ended. I am pretty darn proud of us! Haha! We have done all we can, lets hope and pray something sticks!!!

You're not alone! My husband has a really strenuous job and I work from home while raising our child and taking care of the house so I completely understand what you are going through. By the time my kid goes to bed at night, we both pass out so my dh has to come home from work on his lunch break and I have to be ready to go, otherwise I have to wait for the weekend. Sundays are normally our bd days and we try our best every other day. After my last round of fertility meds, my dh and I dtd 12 times in three days. It was a long weekend! I guess we just need to figure out a way to make it more exciting but it seems like until we get our positives, we have to do what we have to do.

I'm with you! My husband is a firefighter so he works 24 on 48 off (goes to his part time job on his days off) and we don't have kids yet so we really have no excuse, its just the idea that we HAVE to do it that makes it not very fun. When we aren't trying, its fun and spontaneous, but as soon as the week rolls around where we need to do it every day it becomes a chore. I'm not sure what the answer is, but glad I'm not the only one!

We do! My hubby is a police officer and I am a teacher, and between the two of us we have 6 kids, two being newborn twins, so life is busy! He is usually more tired than I am, so I try to make it fun or do things to spark his interest while he's a work. ;) Want him to come home wanting me. Lol

My husband travels weekly for work, so we are having a hard time scheduling anything. He is able to adjust his flights and work schedules to a point. We are currently also doing expensive fertility treatments; the stress from that together with tweaking his schedule is mind numbing. On top of it we have 4 busy "night owls" that are not staying in their beds when they should. We can't help ourselves anymore and decided to do IUIs because of time management and "privacy" reasons. So much for romance! All the best.

I agree- my DH and I are newer to this process of baby making and I think I had always romanticized it. This is only our 3rd month TTC but he has a full day job, then studies at night and on weekends, I work a very erratic schedule and so it's hard to meet up at a time where either, much less both of us are naturally in the mood. I figured we couldn't be the only ones but it always feels better to hear others' stories. I'm glad you asked the question. Sometimes I contemplate just relaxing and not being so stringent if it doesn't happen for us in the next couple of cycles, but at the same time I'm not getting any younger and neither are my eggs DNA content, lol! Oh the joy of trying to wait until my career was established so I could pay off hundreds of thousands of dollars in school loans, bleh!
