You really shouldn't take apart digital tests. They measure LH as well and always have multiple lines. They are determined positive by the color and/or placement of the lines on the strip. Being 2 days late most likely means you ovulated a couple days later than you thought.

I agree that you probably just ovulated a few days later than you thought.

Which could explain a delayed period, or a false negative.

There are also some women who do not have elevated levels of HcG for a test to pick up until a week after their missed period.
It depends on the woman, her body, and the test being tried.
