Natural ovulation booster for pcos
I have pcos and I have detected ovulation 3 times since February (anywhere from cd 18-28). I have been eating pretty well (cutting out most processed foods, eating whole grains, etc) and exercising 3-5 times a week for 20-60 minutes. I have had to take progesterone to get my period twice. I am trying to avoid clomid if possible because I always end up getting the worst side effects of meds. I also did a glucose intolerance test and found out metformin likely won't work for me. So I was wondering if any of you ladies knew of any natural ways to boost ovulation that I could try. Thanks in advance!

Did they just do your fasting glucose test or did they include fasting insulin levels as well? For insulin resistance it is really important that fasting insulin levels be tested. Just because glucose levels are fine and you are not diabetic doesn't mean you aren't insulin resistant. That is how it is for me - my glucose tests are fine, but my insulin levels are high. No one had ever tested the insulin. Metformin will help insulin resistance which in turn helps with ovulation. If they did do the insulin and your levels were fine, I guess the best thing is to lose weight if you are overweight. They say that losing 10% restores normal ovulation in most women. I think there are other supplements like ovaboost, but I can't say whether those actually work. Hopefully others can speak to that. Best of luck!
