Just me?
Anyone else just ever had that feeling that you couldn't get pregnant? I've always had that feeling and at 17 I found out I had endometriosis and had a laparoscopy done to remove it. I haven't been ttc but just this month. AF Is due in 2 days, I normally have very very painful days before my period and during and I haven't had the slightest bit of AF cramps yet. I just stopped taking my bc (which I took continuously w/o periods) on the 29th of July and had my first period, it lasted 2 days. Anyways I'm 12 dpo today. Bfn. I just feel like I'll never be able to get pregnant naturally and it's truly depressing. Yes it's only been 1 month since I stopped taking my bc and some of you have been trying for years but I'm 19, I'm young. I shouldn't have to worry about infertility problems at my age... Sorry I just had to vent

How are you confirming ovulation? It normally takes women a few months to regulate after coming off of bc. Your period you had after stopping wasn't a real period. It was just a withdrawal bleed. Also, you may want to consider waiting to conceive until you have a first real period as taking the pill continuously really thins your lining - that's why your bleed only lasted 2 days. I have a close friend that had stage iv endometriosis. Her first child was conceived via ivf, however, she did conceive her second child naturally. Just be patient, give your body time to adjust to being off bc, and stay positive. Unless you're charting your temps, it is going to be very hard to know when to expect AF again. Odds are you aren't going to have a 28 day cycle. When I stopped bc, it took me 3 mos to begin ovulating again & I had 31 day cycles, so your cycle can change from pre-pill, etc.

The good news is that time is on your side. If you start TTC at 19, even if it takes you 10 years (which it likely won't) you won't even be 30 yet. You may get pregnant right away, or you may have to undergo some fertility tests/treatments, but you have many good years ahead of you to start a family, which is great news. GL! :)

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I've always had that feeling that it might not happen for me and I've always looked longingly (and sadly) at pregnant women and women with young babies, feeling sad that it probably wouldn't happen for me. I've only been diagnosed in the last year - now aged 35. But that feeling has been around since I was about 16. See my page for all the grotty details if you're interested. However, I did give it a couple of years TTC with hubby before I asked for a specialist referral. It's been 3.3 years for us. Hopefully, age will work in your favour. Plenty of women with endo do conceive. Infertility is just more likely; it's not definite. Hopefully, you will be one of the lucky ones!
