Question

Has anyone else taken Prometrium 200mg twice a day? Progesterone levels have been at 40+.

I have been prescribed 200mg of Prometrium taken as a suppository twice a day. Seems like an aggressive approach since my numbers seem fine. (I of course have my MD from Google so what the heck do I know?) Just curious if anyone else has heard of this.

My pharmacist (who admitted to just graduating from college) acted like this was the most unheard of dosage and sort of freaked me out.

Blood tests have shown 1 week after IUI progesterone was at 40+, same with day of my first BFP and the follow up blood work.

I guess better safe than sorry...but seems like a LOT of mgs.

There's really no such thing as too much progesterone. But if the side effects get too much to handle, there's no harm in asking the doctor to lower the dosage.
