It usually takes a few months for you to start ovulating again or ovulating regularly after you stop the pill. For me, it took 3 mos to regulate. However, some women resume normal cycles right away. As far as how long it takes to conceive, that will vary regardless of being on the pill in the past. Some women get pregnant at the drop of a hat, some take a year or more. Just be patient as your body adjusts to being off the pill.

The answer to this depends on a million factors that are different for each individual. If you and your DH are totally healthy and fertile it could still take up to a year or even more. If there are any problems, it could take even longer. Or you could nail it in the first month.

I expected to not even have a period the following month after stopping the pill but I was right now time. I've always been regular with my cycles even before I began taking the pill. I was on them for 14 years so I've got to prepare that it could take awhile to concieve. I'm 33 years old and I wished I hadn't waited this long to begin planning my first child.

I was on the pill for 15 years with no breaks. Like I said, it did take 3 mos for my cycles to resume. My hubby & I weren't even TTC when I found out I was pregnant with my first. I was 33 & almost 34 when she was born. I didn't go back on bc after she was born but we were very careful. We decided to TTC once she turned 2 (which was in June 2013). I was almost 36 at the time & we conceived on the second cycle of trying. Being older or on the pill for a long time doesn't mean you're going to have a hard time getting pregnant. Give it time, plan it right, and odds are you'll be pregnant in the near future! :)
