Question

5 weeks and 6 days pregnant based on ovulation and only seen a 7mm gestational sac on ultrasound?

I went to the er last night for sharp stabbing pain in my left side of stomach they did a ultrasound transvaginal and said all they seen was a 7mm gestational sac no fetal pole or yolk sac they think I'm less then 5 weeks pregnsnt but I did ovulation strips and know when we had sex so that would of put me at 5 weeks and 6 days.. also they said not to worry but gave me info on etopic and miscarriage! hcg levels have gone up and we're at 3449 yesterday so that's a good sign! I'm gonna call my doc tomorrow for a fallow up apt and hopeful another early ultrasound. .I'm noy bleeding or cramping just worried is it okay to just see the 7mm gestational sac at 5 weeks 6 days! Ik some people are seeing heartbeats by then! Please someone give me some in site I'm freaking out and on pins and needles!

First, I understand your anxiety, as a mother of one & multiple miscarriages! But I would really try to relax. None of this is in your control and your worrying won't change the outcome.

Secondly, give your baby some time to grow and get settled in. You are still very early. A lot of the time doctors don't even like to see us until we are about 8 weeks, simply because of the many changes that are still occurring. Some heartbeats are seen early, and some are seen later than others. If you're religious, just pray over your little one, and allow your body to adjust to the miracle that's growing inside. You may have some morning/day sickness, round ligament pain, breast tenderness, etc. But if you notice something alarming, please continue to contact the doctor. Good luck to you! xo
