Question

Chemical Pregnancy?? Did you call your doc?

So I think I am having a chemical pregnancy. Here is the timeline:
11DPO - very faint BFP
12DPO to 14DPO - BFP got slightly darker
15DPO (AF due) - BFP not darker
16DPO - BFN, BFP, BFP (lighter lines)
17DPO ( today) - BFN, BFN - no AF yet
Do you think it could be a chemical pregnancy? Did you call your doc? When did AF come when you had a chemical pregnancy?

Sorry about this :( Never a fun situation. I believe I had a CP in Dec 2012 and I didn't get AF until a week after the tests went negative, but it could be any time really. There's not a whole lot the doc can do but they might want to do blood work and confirm that the HCG is low (not just "bad tests" or undetectable in urine). Good luck girl!

When I had mine, I just let nature take its course. At that point, I knew what I needed to do and I knew the doctors wouldn't be able to do anything about it so I just let it be. I did see my gyno shortly after to just let her know what was going on. She checked my HCG levels and they slowly started going down and I was able to start trying again the following month. There really isn't anything a doctor can do for you other than make sure that your levels are going down and finally bottom out so you can try again. Good luck and I'm sorry for what you are going through.

Another thing...are you using the same tests? I only ask because different tests read different levels of HCG. I wouldn't even think about it until you start bleeding. Don't stress yourself out. If you're really worried about it, go see your doctor.

Thanks for responding ladies. I did use a few different tests. This morning I used an Equate (Walmart) brand that is similar to FRER, when it was a BFN, I used an actual FRER with my SMU. When it was a BFN, I knew something was definitely wrong because they are so sensitive and all the FRERs that I had taken so far were positive. This afternoon I have been having period like cramps. All along I kept telling my husband that I was having less symptoms everyday and the lines on the FRERs were not getting darker. I am just sad and confused. This sucks :(

I have recently just went through this same thing. I got a positive pregancy test on Saturday August 2nd and then later on that day some really light pink spotting. Spotted all weekend and then called my doc on Monday she ordered HCG test and it was only at 31 then ordered a second one 2 days later and it was a 27. It wasn't going up at all so she said it was a chemical pregnancy and that I should lose it soon. That was really hard and now I started my period this past weekend on August 9th so I was a little over 1 1/2 weeks late. So now my dr ordered more HCG tests for this friday to confirm that my numbers went down. It is really hard to deal with as I was so excited when I saw that first positive!!! Then it pretty much just hits you and you feel really confused and sad. How do you feel now and what happened? Hopefully yours was different than mine but overall me and my husband keep saying all we can do is try again and things happen for a reason.

So sorry for your loss drummermarinesgirl. Even though it is an early loss, it still hurts. My period came 4 days late, but was pretty normal. I thought I was doing well until we started trying again these past couple of days. I think I am putting too much pressure on my husband if you know what I mean. I haven't ovulated yet, but I am on CD13. I usually O on CD12 or 13, so hopefully soon. I just really want to be pregnant again. Our daughter was born at 31 weeks, so I am already nervous about being pregnant again. I just have to try to relax. Thanks for asking. I hope you are doing well and wish you lots of baby dust.
