I'm also 26 and just underwent my first ivf cycle. (I actually just got the results of my first beta today, so I literally just ended my cycle. ) I have come to realize that age means nothing in regards to fertility treatment. I have diminished ovarian reserve, so even though I'm 26, I have the eggs of a much older woman! You will do great. As long as you mentally prepare yourselves for a strict regimen of meds and doctor visits, which you are probably already used to, there's nothing to worry about. The entire process brought us closer together, but just know that it is truly out of your hands to a certain extent. I followed my RE'S instructions flawlessly, and there are still things that can go wrong. My first beta came out today at only 43, (when they like to see it over 100), so I may end up having a chemical pregnancy. As much as that stinks, I have just learned to hope for the best, yet prepare for the worst. You are welcome to ask me any questions whatsoever! :)

I'm 28 DH is 34. We've been TTC #1 for 2 yrs now. We were also diagnosed with unexplained infertility and incredibly bad luck. Our first IUI was cancelled due to DH randomly flunking his SA mid-cycle. Next IUI we did injectables + IUI and got pregnant. Pregnancy progressed beautifully, but at 12 wk ultrasound at my regular OB, they discovered something was horribly wrong and we'd lose the pregnancy. No warning signs. We lost our little girl at 13 weeks due to Turner's Syndrome, cystic hygroma and hydrops. We were told it was a completely random chromosome problem. "You just have bad luck." We went back to treatment 3 mnths later. We did 3 more IUIs and had 2 more cancelled cycles. When we reached the point of needing IVF, we wanted to give it our all. We did PGS on our embryos (genetic testing so we only transferred healthy embryos), I went gluten-free (something I did before our last pregnancy) and I was diligent about going to acupuncture. It's still early but I just got my

I just got my positive. Not sure why it didn't show the positive character! I don't know if this is going to be our rainbow baby, but we're a lot stronger for having overcome such crazy obstacles together. Helpful tips? NEVER GIVE UP and never stop advocating for yourself. Doctors at our clinic kept saying we were too young to consider doing PGS, but my primary RE agreed that it would give us peace of mind that what happened to our first baby wouldn't happen again. And wouldn't you know it? Two of our embryos had chromosomal issues - one had the exact same Turner's Syndrome diagnosis as our first baby. You may not get an answer to your fertility problems and that's difficult to come to terms with. But never stop believing that somehow, some way you will be a mom.
