It can be normal. For me it wasn't though.

I started gushing, and I mean calling an ambulance kind of gushing blood at 6 weeks pregnant with my oldest. I rushed myself to the er, got shoved into a trauma bay. A lot of mean and totally embarrassing things were done to me and I finally had an ultrasound done.

Turns out I had a subchorionic hemorrhage in my uterus. They were able to stop the bleeding and kept me for several hours monitoring me. I never miscarried despite what the er doctors told me. Through out my pregnancy I would randomly spot brown blood and sometimes bleed because of the hemorrhage.

I made it to 38 weeks before they induced me because my placenta was tearing away from my uterine wall.

Seriously though. It could be nothing. Brown blood is called bad blood or old blood. It's just old blood that has leaked out. It could seriously be nothing.

Brown blood is old blood! I've read the cervix can be very easily irritated early in pregnancy so it could have been irritated recently (sex, bowel movement...) and that old blood finally made its way out. Try not to stress! It can be completely normal. Wear a liner just in case... that way just in case any comes out you always know how much and what color to tell your doctor tomorrow. GL!! Keep us posted!

Yes. I had the subchorionic bleeding as well at around 12 to 14 weeks pregnant. This type of bleeding is normal. Was it one time or did it gush? With mine it gushed out. My daughter is now 4 years old. Hopefully it is nothing. As the above poster said, please keep me posted! Good luck!

When it is light brown it is fine, but when it gets dark red, then it is not good

That makes me feel a lot better. Its dark brown. Just got home from work and there's a little on my underwear. Keeping positive. Thank you everyone!
