Question

Should I be concern for not having a cycle for nine months now?

It's been nine months since my last cycle. I am losing weight and watching what I am eating now. I have abdominal cramps at the end of the day almost everyday. I know my period is trying to come on but for some reason something is holding it back. I have PCOS and hormonal issues. I drink plenty of water and I cut out my sweets. So far I lost 13 pounds and still no AF. Should I go see a obgyn or should I wait it out? Will I be OK going for thus long without AF? This is the longest so far.

DEFINITELY go to your doctor! There are meds you may need to have a normal cycle. If you are TTC you will need to get it under a doctor's control.

I completely agree with luvtowalkfast. See a reproductive endocrinologist for help. Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

Not to scare u, but the last (and the only) time I didnt have a period for an extended time, I think it was like 8 months, I had a massive ovarian cyst and ended up in surgery the next am. U NEED to be checked out by a doctor!! There arent many things that can stop a period, but the things that can are things that need medical attention. Please call ur ob/gyn asap.

I'm no expert of course, but I have somewhat irregular periods. When I was being really good and losing weight once I lost about 20lbs I started having a regular cycle again. I'm sure it all depends on timing and how much weight you need to lose. Hang in there! And of course, I have to agree, maybe a visit to your gyn might be in order? Call it a preconception consult or something? Good luck!!
