I definitely wouldn't take one until your period is late. Depending on how your cycle usually are, you may want to take one immediately when it's late or wait a couple days. For example, my cycle varies between 25-27 days so if I was on CD 32, I'd be testing where as if I was only on CD 27, I probably wouldn't. My personal philosophy is just save yourself some grief and test after being late or if you just have a lot of new and unusual symptoms you've never experienced. Nonetheless, 12dpo is a good time to test, not too early.

Thank you. Usually I do test late, it just seems the next day or two I get my period so I thought it was strange. My cycle is usually 23-26 days. Thank you very much for your opinion, I am not late for 2 more days so I will hold out.

I'm in the same boat, I have tested 7dpo (BFN), 9dpo(BFN) and have decided to save my self the grief/disapointment and at least wait till I'm 14dpo till I test again. Good Luck!
