Temp before getting out of bed?
Hello all. This is my first cycle temping. I take my temps at the same time every morning around 5:30am (weekends are usually around 7am). I don't take my temp before I actually roll out of bed. I usually get up and walk into the bathroom and then take it. I don't pee or drink water or do anything before taking my temp other than walking into the bathroom. Is this ok to do? Will this affect my temps for them to be inaccurate?
Also, some mornings lately I've been waking up about 20 minutes before my alarm is to go off. I usually just lay there and doze off again until it's time to get up. Should I start getting up as soon as I wake up to temp or will dozing off and then waking again be ok? I'm not fully awake when I'm describing this - kind of in between awake and asleep.
I had some symptoms this month and I wondered if I would get a BFP, but my temps dipped HUGE this morning (below coverline) so I think AF is coming. :-(

I learned charting through meetings @ "couple to couple league". The advice was to take the temperature before you get out of bed. It happens to me at times that I wake up earlier and doze off. Then I just take my temp when I fully wake up before getting out of bed. You will notice that if you sleep in and take your temp much later than usual it will be somewhat higher than if you had taken it at the usual earlier time. You will figure out how your body responds. The great thing is that you are keeping a BBT chart! Best wishes and the Lord's blessings.

Definitely take ur temp before getting out of bed, and also take it if u wake up less than 3hrs before ur normal temping time. The problem with waking up 20mins early and dozing off again, is that u have woken up. Maybe not fully or to the point of being somewhat functional, but ur brain has changed states of conciousness and once its up, it increases cardiac and respiratory rates, which warm the core and temps rise. U dont even need to move, ur body temp will just increase, faster if ur walking to the washroom. The basal temp is a temp taken with all organs in a resting phase. Also, if ur looking for accuracy, take those temps at the same time all week...weekends included. U can always go back to sleep after.
Good luck! =))
