Question

What is implantation bleeding/spotting exactly?

I've heard so many people say this and that but what is considered implantation bleeding or spotting? I went to the bathroom CD31 and noticed a tiny spot of red blood on the teepee. I wiped again more inside and got 2 more spots with some clear discharge. I usually have cycles of 36 days, give or take a day or 2. I really really hope it may of been implantation but what else could it be? Not getting my hopes up but it was about a week before my AF may be due too. And I don't really know when I Oed (trying to just go with it and have fun) but it may of been CD 24-26?

Well, implantation bleeding is when the embryo attaches itself to the uterine lining. During that time some of the blood can fall off the lining causing some spotting. This usually happens between 6-12 days after ovulation. If you O'd on day 24 that would mean you would likely experience implantation between day 30 or 36 of your cycle. If you O'd on day 26 it would likely be between day 32 and 38. With all that being said, it sounds like you O too late....your luteal phase needs to be at least 10 days and most ob/gyns like it to be more like 12-14 days or longer to have a successful pregnancy. I am not saying this to make you worry...just to be aware.

Although I agree about keeping it fun, it may not be a bad idea to at least keep track of your bbt [basil body temperature] so you know what is going on...we are only fertile between 3 and 7 days in any given cycle - so it is important to know when that fertile time [ovulation] is. Good luck and baby Dust!
