Paying for IUI IVF monitored cycles?
My RE was telling me the prices of monitored cycles IUI and IVF and I about fell over with sticker shock. I was wondering how you guys pay for the procedures does your insurance pay for it do you use credit cards or do you just have that kind of money laying around?

I live in Australia and we are lucky to have Medicare which covers most of the procedures and appointments. What happens is we go to the specialist and pay the full amount which is usually about $170 for just a face to face appointment talking about our options and upcoming iui. Then once Medicare see we have paid the full amount they refund us the rebate which last time we received about $90 back so we only paid $80 out of pocket. Then when we have the iui done we need to pay $255 for sperm to be frozen and $960 for the iui and we will receive about $420 back from Medicare. It is a lot of money to pay upfront but we are lucky to have Medicare that helps out.
