Conceiving after a chemical pregnancy
I had a chemical pregnancy last cycle, but I feel it was abnormal. My period was due Feb 1 but on Jan 29 (weds) I started bleeding- and it seemed pretty normal for first day period. I had another light day the following day, but then the 3rd day it stopped. I took a pregnancy test and I had a faint positive. Over the weekend the line got darker, but then Monday I had my HCG levels drawn and they were only 7! After that, the line got lighter the following days, then by Thursday I rechecked my beta levels and it was 3 (still faint pos on FRER) My OB called it a chemical and said I may start bleeding within a week. I haven't, nothing since the initial 2 day bleeding I had 2 weeks ago. Should that be counted as when my period was? Did I lose the pregnancy then? Why did my lines get initially darker? My OB never really answered these questions as she has her nurse calling me (I am in the process of switching now). This would be my normal ovulation time and I wonder if I am going to. Help!

it does sound like you lost it. This just happened to me in December. I found out just before Christmas that I was pregnant with several positive pregnancy tests. HCG was climbing because on the initial day I found out, the digital said not pregnant and on Christmas Eve I took another digi that said pregnant. But 2 days after Christmas I started bleeding. I called my MD office who had me come in for hcg level, which came back at 19. I could not wait the 2 days to repeat the test and called the on call MD because my bleeding was getting heavier so they ordered another to see which way it was moving. It came back at 7. devastated of course. I did decide to track my ovulation after that and try again right away. I did ovulate on time counting the mc bleed as CD1. And I did get pregnant again on that cycle. I am currently 6w3d and hoping this one stick. wont see MD for another 3 weeks tho. They did not feel it was necesary to check hcg levels unless i started to bleed again.

The bleeding you already had was probably from the chemical/early m/c. My first early m/c I kept getting darker hpt's and my hcg went up to 76 I believe but then started dropping and the bleeding started when it was around 30 and then it took like a week and 1/2 after the bleeding stopped for my numbers to keep dropping down to 0. They probably caught your hcg on the decline after the chemical happened.
