Ovulated on day 21 last month but positive opk on day 15 this month?

I have been off the pill for 3 months. My cycles vary from between 36 to 38 days and I ovulate between day 21 and 24. This month I got one positive opk at 5pm on CD 15. Is it possible to ovulate earlier?? I only got one positive, all opks the day after was negative and the day before also negative? We BD every other day sometimes more.
