I am going to have on in four months time if I don't get pregnant before then. Other ladies on here have described it as very simple and not very painful so that eased my mind :)

Thank you for answering me ....many people say it helped then to fall pregnant .Wish you ll haves BFP even before HSG.

I had an HSG/SSG in May, it was nothing...buuut, I have also read that it was very painful for other women. It depends on ur anatomy and the skill of the tech/doctor performing the procedure, also if the tubes are blocked. Mine were blocked until he increased the pressure then they were clear. They dont know if it was an actual blockage or just the tubes spasming. Ur "supposed" to be very fertile for the 3 months after, but it did nothing for me except relax my mind that things were flowing freely. I didnt get my BFP til my October cycle. Best advice I can give u, DO NOT read stories on the internet. Go in with a clear mind and deal with whatever, as it comes. I psyched myself out by reading all these horrible stories online, only to lay there wondering why I was so scared in the first place. For me, I have cramping more painful when I have to poop. Dont read the stories, seriously!!

I'm going for a HSG next Friday, and I kept reading stuff on the net and got myself scared even tho I've had it done many years ago and it was nothing all I got was just mild cramps like period pains, but all I'm focusing on is that it's gonna help me and clear me out if any thing is there, and it will be nice and clean ready for baby to rest, just think positive that's what I'm trying to do, and good luck and all the best hope all goes well, I'm always ere if you need a chat xx

I had one back in September. I didn't feel anything other than a little pressure when they did the dye. I had some mild cramps and bloating for a couple days after when the dye was being absorbed my my body but other than that it was nothing! If you relax it does help things go in easier.

Hey girls! I'm an x ray tech and Ive been a part in helping with these exams a few times. Its a very mixed reactions from women about pain/effectiveness. Good luck girls!

I did the hsg and it hurts like three times period cramps.unfortunately I had one blocked Fallopian tube.

The doctor told me to try with the patent one.Ectopic can be a disaster Baby dust Hun.
