Missed miscarriages suck. They are different for everyone, really. I was supposed to be 9w3d on August 20th found out baby was only 6w4d with no heartbeat. I Chose to wait it out and m/c naturally and did so on Sept 8th 2013. I bled non stop heavy bleeding until November 20th (terrible! bled for so long!) Went to doctor 21st, and bleeding had stopped (go figured i looked nuts to the doctor). Nov 25th bleeding resumes, doctor orders u/s and they find that it's a "normal period". Now I have taken 3 positive pregnancy tests and am estimated at 5w4d. Still waiting on u/s results though to tell me if this is a real pregnancy or if im just nuts but my boobs are killing me! It's hard to say since everyone is SO different with their recovery times. They say some dont get a real period for 6-8 weeks. Mine only took 5 days...

I am the perfect person to help you. The exact same thing happened to me. I lost my baby on the 24th Sep at 9w2d. I had a D&C on the 26th Sep there was retained product and I had a 2nd D&C on the 18th Oct, rushed into hospital twice by ambo. I had blood tests to ensure that my HCG levels were back to 0, also an ultrasound to make sure all was clear. I was told by doctors to give my body a chance to recover & that I must wait to get my period back and have a cycle. I got my first AF on the 29th Nov and ovulated on Dec 14. First cycle trying and I got that beautiful xmas present on 25th Dec with a faint BFP for it to become a chemical preg, but hey at least I know that things are still working after the 2 D&C's and it's so true what people say you often fall quickly after D&C's as your system is all cleaned out. I hope 2014 will be my year and I get a + this month Jan. I am greatful that I can fall preg easily at 37yrs and we already have a 6yr old. Hope this has help

PS when folk respond to you that have had a natural M/C it is completely different to being as far along as we were and having to have surgery twice I might add, we should follow each other.

Thank you ladies. It's such an emotional rollercoaster! I have a feeling that my faint positives over the last week have been the result of a chemical pregnancy. I sat and spoke to my partner about it last night and as he said, I had had a week or two of completely negative frer's and a negative clear blue digital in early/mid december. So these faints that I've been seen must have been a little fertilised egg trying to implant but just not making it. The last test I took yesterday was so light that you had to have 20/20 vision to see it. And last night I had some pink spotting and now today I have brown spotting. So I am assuming I am starting AF or having a weird little cycle of some kind. i have had really bad cramping and back pain too so I'm assuming, AT LAST, my cycle is starting.
I can't wait to start trying again. I am a bit like a person possessed when it comes to TTC, so it is all consuming but I'm just looking forward to starting a little family so badly!

Why oh why did I leave it this late in life though! I'm 35 in 3 months and that "OLD" in fertility terms. I wish I had found my soul mate a little earlier so we had more time! I know us mid to late 30 year olds are not out of the running but I get so worried thinking about my clock ticking down faster and faster.
I can't wait to see all our BFP's in the next few months! This is going to be exciting!!! xoxoxoxo
