I have a success story! I took clomid 50 mg 3 times total after trying for two years. First time, that cycle I followed steps exactly as my doctor had told me, for 5 days starting on day 5, I charted, BD every other day starting day 13, confirmed ovulation on day 17, I got pregnant but ended in an early miscarriage. Second time followed directions as well but didn't chart properly, also confirmed ovulation day 17 but my period arrived on time. Third time, I had stopped trying for like 6 months, I knew I had one more refill so I just took the pills from day 5, didn't chart, didn't bd every other day (I think we only bd once), I assumed I ovulated day 17, now Im 18 weeks pregnant :) I guess my advice is dont over stress about it, try to follow directions and just take it easy... I didn't have any different symptoms or anything, so just keep calm and hope for the best.

Please don't stress out!!! they tell you about all the possible side effects because they have to. Most women barely have any. I have done 5 cycles of clomid now and all I have had is hot flashes in the first couple of weeks, and then sometimes I get really bad cramping for a few days before ovulation (on good cycles). I like getting those symptoms because then I know it is doing something. Hopefully you aren't one of the few women who have a major problem with it, but if it is that stressful for you then weigh up whether it is worth it to you a. Remember stress releases hormones which can hugely affect your cycle too! There is no harm in waiting another cycle to get your head around the idea of going on the medication. I actually waited for 3 cycles after being prescribed clomid as I had just had a miscarriage and wanted to get my body back into some normality first. We still tried of course! That gave me time to get my head around the drug and by that point I was SO ready to start.

thanks shelob, i think if i waited til another cycle i would be constantly thinking of it and with my periods so unpredictable it could be months waiting, it is a good idea but im eager to start just really worried. google can be dangerous to my mental health haha hoping once i start ill calm down

Googling is dangerous! One of my friends has diagnosed herself with all sorts of horrible things using google...
Interesting that you ovulate at CD17 on clomid 5-9 nono09. I also have an (average) ovulation of CD17 on clomid but I take is CD2-6 (the usual regime in New Zealand). It doesn't matter whether I take 50mg or 100mg that is still my average!
