Question

Need some reassurance and inspiration please!! Down in the dumps... :(

Hi Ladies,
My partner and I have been ttc for the last 6 months now and I am starting to get quite upset as we both want to start a family and it just doesn't seem to be happening!! Today I got what I am pretty sure is af, but a week late and I had all the signs, bloating, headaches, nausea, sore breasts, etc.. not happy!! Any words of encouragement would be appriciated or any stories from any feeling the same disappointment I am feeling. Also has anyone had their period while pregnant? Even the slightest bit of hope? Baby dust to all xo

if your not sure do a pregnancy test. alot of pms symptoms and pregnancy can feel the same. we tried for over a year then found out we had fertility issues so we weren't going to get pregnant on our own. i use to cry at the end of each month and i think that was good when i needed to.

I would do a pregnancy test. My mother said she got what she thought was her period for almost 4 months before she realized she was pregnant with me. She said it seemed like a normal period.

Really? I have heard of that happening to some woman, but dont want to keep my hopes up! My flow is not normal compared to what it usually is so might test again in a few days. Thank you so much for your reply.

It took 7 cycles for me to get pregnant with baby #1. Found out my thyroid was WAAAY out of wack. (I knew I was hypothyroid and on medication, just the wrong dosage) The f7th month was the first time my thyroid was in normal range and I got a BFP.

Prior to this, I too was getting down and nervous. I know some people put a 12 month ttc deadline before they look into fertility issues. With each month I was getting closer to 12, I was getting more and more worried. 1 thing I found on here that boosted my confidence was the age & fertility calculator. It showed the longer you ttc the higher the chance of conceiving each month. If you haven't seen it, check it out!

Remember to relax and have fun. Maybe even "take a break" from all the charting temps and logging symptoms. Take a little vacay or staycay with your SO and just unwind. It will happen just when you least expect it!

Thanks for your reply ALZamora1111, I know I haven't been trying as long as many other ladies, so i feel a little silly getting upset after only 6 months, but it's just one of those things where every month I am getting disappointed yet again!! Think I am going to just relax a bit over christmas/new year and see what happens.. It is encouraging to know that your sister experienced that as I know alot of ladies could be wondering the same thing.

Just keep trying, we all get that desire and then let down when trying. Just try to be active at least 4 times a week or every 2 days from start to end of cycle. If you have AF, chances are slim you are pg but there are exceptions to every standard. Stay consistent, talk to your OB, get sperm count/fertility tests, eat healthy and don't make drastic changes in your exercise, diet, or stress level because those things have a potential to throw off your cycle and can cause anovulation month(s). Just get sleep, proper exercise, and diet and TTC several times a week but not back to back days as that lowers sperm counts. Some people that wait till O day or within the O window that become active back to back days or multiple times a day reduce sperm count each time instead of letting the man rebuild his sperm count. Remember survival rate of sperm is 3 days on averae before it starts to slow down so a day break between TTC will not make you miss your window. A

Also remember TTC brings underlying stress where we start to evaluate every sign and symptom and that causes tricks on our minds and undue stress. This stress can cause O to be delayed, missed, and AF to change her course because of stress related issues.
