Question

When did you hear heartbeat?

I'm a high risk pregnancy for various medical reasons. Due to my history of early losses, the ob wants me in at 5w2d for a scan, she says, to hear the heartbeat. It's my understanding that's too early for a HB or even a fetal pole.

If you had an early scan, when did you hear heartbeat?

I went in by lmp at 6w1d and only the sac was seen.....of course Im freaking out, but doc says sac only measured at 5w3d could of o'd late and not to worry its typical for fetus, pole, yolk sac and heart beat to not been visable until 6-7 weeks so don't get discouraged if it isn't all seen just yet.. .I know easier said then done because I'm completely losing my mind!

That seems far too early to hear the heartbeat. Either know that you likely won't see one then (and try not to worry!) or ask to reschedule for a week later - that way you'll have a better chance to hear it and put your mind at rest. Congrats!! and good luck!

We saw the heart beat at 5 weeks 6 days. That is usually the earliest you're going to see a heart beat.
