Anyone w/ PCOS have luck with 150 mg of Clomid??
I am 31 small (135 lbs 5'7") and recently was diagnosed with PCOS. We have been TTC for over a year, so it was pretty devastating to hear. My doctor started me on 50 mg of Clomid and the follicle scan showed no improvement. She upped my dose to 100 mg and again the follicle scan showed no improvement. The doc started me on 150 mg today and I go back in for a scan on July 9th. I am just curious if anyone had a similar situation and got mature follicles with 150 mg of Clomid. TTC with PCoS is so heartbreaking... it makes me feel worthless and broken. I am so tired of being sad... I just wish something would work.

Some women, unfortunately, do not respond to clomid. Have you had your FSH tested? I'm surprised of a PCOS diagnosis with no further testing. I would definitely see a reproductive endocrinologist for more testing. OB's can be great, but they aren't as experienced. Do some research and find a reputable one in your area. I too had PCOS, and had ovarian drilling to rectify the problem and it hasn't come back at all. Even got a natural surprise BFP in march. Sadly it ended in m/c, but it happened out of the blue - so it IS possible!

Thanks so much for your response. I am really sorry to hear about your miscarriage. :(
I had bloodwork done and all hormone levels confirmed PCOS. My FSH levels are really low. My mom also has PCOS... always called me her miracle baby. I have an appointment with an endocrinologist. I made it today in case the 150 mg doesn't work. I am just hopeful the 150 mg will work... it's probably wishful thinking though.

I just found out in May that I have PCOS. My doc started me on Clomid. But he also said that if I didn't respond to the Clomid that he would switch me to Femara. So maybe that is an option for you. I also have high prolactin, so I am on a new med for that. I have also made changes to my diet to try and help. I don't need to lose any weight. But I am hoping that with diet changes and meds, my body will start working right. PCOS is overwhelming. But don't give up hope!

Thanks for your response kmk910... I haven't tried Femara yet, but the doc said that would be our next step. I scheduled an appointment with a specialist in the mean time, so hopefully they can figure the right medicine for me to make my body work. What are you doing differently with your diet, maybe I should change my diet as well. I am in such a state of devastation and hopelessness and I know I need to snap out of it!

Just an update for anyone following my post and for others that may be dealing with the same issue...
I had a scan on CD 14 after taking 150 mg of clomid. My doc started me on 50 mg and we went up to 150 mg. My scan showed one collapsed follicle and an 8 mm follicle, so my doc thought the medicine worked. She told me to wait until day 34 or when I started. Unfortunately, I started my period today... and I shouldn't have started until the 23rd of this month. I don't think the medicine worked after all. I am on to Femara now... hopefully I respond to it... I also have an appointment with a endocrinologist next month, so he may go straight to injections. Anyway, I hope anyone reading this gets their BFP soon. :) Baby dust to all!!
