well first thing is, know that anxiety after birth is very common. I suffer from it every day but postpartum is horrible for me. Your BP is not high. You know that it's not high. Ask yourself what is positive about thinking about your BP. When u start to think about it, STOP take a deep breath and say out loud to yourself, "this is NOT helping me in a positive way, my BP is NOT high, I will only think of positive things"..... focus on your baby, maybe take a walk, start taking pics of the baby- that helped me- when you get the overwhelming urge to start getting upset- stop it dead in it's tracks. For me I used to freak out i was going to die in my sleep. I did it with all my kids postpartum. I would cry to the point of almost puking. *** continued*** know u are not alone. We all have some form of anxiety, but the key i knowing it can be controlled- by YOU :) showers help me...writing and signing helps me..deep breathing....try to find an immediate outlet to help you stop obsessing about it.... The fluctuation in your BP is coming from your hormones and fluids...it takes a while for your body to regulate itself. good luck to you and know that you can do this :)
