Well, you do need egg to meet sperm for conception to take place, so that would be impossible. But assume you are talking about intercourse taking place 7 days prior to ovulation? Well, so far as I know, 5 days before ovulation is the earliest. Don't know where this 10% figure came from. A couple with no known issues aged 25-35 has 20% chances of conceiving if they bd every 2-3 days in the fertile window which is the day of ovulation, the day after ovulation and up to 5 days before ovulation. Sperm will only live if they make it to the uterus, which is less hostile than the vagina.

just googled it and the answer is no but if you have sex 2 or 3 days before oulation you could concieve then because the sperm swim around for a few days before dying so they could catch the egg. xxx

Agree w/ Mammoth. Sperm can live up to 7 days, but that is the max and that is not all sperm. It depends on how healthy it is and other factors. Also, sperm starts dying off after 2-3 days so there's not going to be many left after 7 days. So it's possible if you BD 7 days before O to get pg, but I don't think it's very likely.

Thanks everyone we got to bd last night too (5-6 days before o) so we are getting closer to where we need to be. A few more times this week should bump our chances
