I am 14 dpo and 1 day late for af. I took a clear blue easy plus test and it came out negative?

I am usually on time for my periods and never go past it. as of today I am 1 day late. I took a clear blue easy plus test and it was early afternoon and I got a negative result. I have heard that clear blue is not the best test but it's what i had on hand. do i take this result as my bfn or try again? Has anyone else had a clear blue easy give a false negative?
