Question

For those of you that have had a d&c did you have lots of blood clots during your AF's afterward

I am starting to wonder if this is normal. The blood clots during AF time started during my 2nd period after my m/c (d&c) and I went to the ER after passing a pretty large one and having bad cramps and they did an u/s and said my uterus was thin and no swelling so that meant no infection was present. Well now this cycle, my 3rd, I am passing lots of medium sized blood clots. During my 6 week post d&c appointment with my OB, I told her about my trip to the ER due to large blood clot and all she said was that it was due to blood pooling in my uterus and that if there was no swelling it was good because that means we got everything and there is no infection. But these bloodclots are worrying me. I will call tomorrow but want to know how common is this from your personal experiences. How many cycles should it keep happening for and what did your dr's tell you? What causes the blood to clot? This is just strange to me...

Also, I am worried about how will this affect me getting pregnant? Could this be a blood clot disorder? I read about blood clotting some how causing miscarriages or preventing the egg from implanting, but then again I didn't hear it straight from my ob, but then again not getting too much info from her on anything...

Hi there I posted up a question earlier about the same thing. I'm up to my 3rd cycle since my d&c back in May & have passed clots or tissue since I haven't seen my doctor though. My periods are regular & no pain is associated so I'm also trying to figure out what they could be. I have heard also it could be our uteral wall building up again. I'm trying to conceive #3 & praying the next one sticks.

I didn't have them in my first cycle after D&c but my second was really bad, huge clots so much blood I thought I was going to bleed to death, went thru about 3 packs of super sanitry towels a day, went the ER and they gave me tablets to thin the blood, they worked, the next cycle was normal, and the cycle after that, then the cycle after that I got pregnant, and here I am 14 weeks along.

My surgery went pretty well.. I think they must have gotten as much as the blood as they could and then I bled for maybe a week or so afterwards. I got my period about a month after and yes, there were clots. The texture seemed to be different as if my body was still flushing out unneeded lining.

I think the blood clotting is normal. If they are the size of a golf ball then I would call your doctor. I had my D&C 8/15 and I'm still bleeding and I notice clots here and there. I haven't gotten AF yet but I'm assuming it will be different. Our bodies undergo a lot and things change because of hormones. I don't think my AF will be the same as before. As for the blood cotting disorder, the way I look at it is this - if the eg was able to implant initially before the M/C and the baby just stopped growing, then I don't think a person would have that disorder. Then again I'm not a dr but I just look at it that way. I have my follow up tomorrow amd I will ask my dr. It never hurts to get tested.
