Clomid - CD21 hGC/ovulation test
This is my first cycle of Clomid (50mg, days 5-9) as I have PCOS.
Went to OBGYN for a routine CD21 blood test - to see if I ovulated (tests progesterone level) and asked if the blood test could detect pregnancy and nurse said 'yes' and agreed to do it for me.
Results showed + ovulation, - pregnancy. When I asked if there was any chance of a BFP later this month, the nurse basically said unlikely.
Since getting the - preg result I have been online searching to see when hCG levels are first detected in blood tests. All websites I have looked at say at/after the time of implantation, typically 6-12dpo. I don't know when I ovulated, but literature says that women on Clomid generally ovulate a bit later, around CD16-20.
So I don't know what to think now. Does the nurse not know what she's talking about? Do I still stand a decent chance this month? Without the exact date of ovulation is anything accurate? My own fault for instigating the preg test....Appreciate your thoughts??

My Dr. has always told me to wait until after I miss my period to test for pregnancy. She also said even if they test in their office, there may not be enough HCG in your blood to detect it before then. So just wait until after your expected period. Hope this helps. This is my second cycle on clomid. Expecting my period next week. Hope I don't get it. Did you become pregnant? If so, how many cycles on clomid until you finally got a BFP?
