Calvingirl. Many congratulations ???? to you I hope and pray everything goes well. Thank you for your kind words.

I am 45 and have 3 children from a previous marriage who are grown up. My new life partner has never had children and is younger than I at 37. I was reluctant to try although want to give him his desire as I thought will be a traumatic path etc. I've lost 2 children in the past. I know my age is so against me and need to be prepared it will not happen at all which we both are.

But I am trying to stay positive this was our first month of trying and although we didn't get a little one that stuck in the right place...it stuck!! Its been shocking and quick but I have hope for the future.

Im worried as clomid can increase the risk of ectopic I've read. Has anyone here conceived when older naturally with no help? Or is trying to? I still definitely ovulate.

Calvingirl, I am so very excited for you! When you share your good news, those of us still struggling to conceive find hope also (at least I do). You kind of made my day brighter in a way! Positive vibes and best wishes your way and keep us posted , please.
Hi Panda! Welcome!!! Something is better than nothing and hopeful. I have been on Countdown 2+ years now for support and TTC for 3 years now, since our wedding in July 2014. Had two miscarriages in there. I am almost 41 with surprisingly good fsh and amh, but I rarely ovulate on my own and I am not overweight or under and I take care of myself. Hubby has great sperm count results. So we finally saw an RE in February and I did 4 cycles of Clomid. The last cycle I had unexplained bleeding and it was enough for me to put the brakes on the Clomid. Lots of women do have success with it, though! Best of luck to you. Keep us updated! The support is so nice.

Calvingirl congratulations!!!!! I pray you have a sticky one:)
Panda don't ever give up. I'm almost 43, have had 6 mc and still trying naturally. My doctor wanted me to do Ivf treatment, I refused. I believe if it's meant to be it will be. I heard Vitex is as good as clomid, without the side effects. I'm still recovering from my surgery,if I can't get pregnant, I'll consider Vitex. Im all for natural stuff.
Good luck girls!!!!

Also, Calvingirl, just a question: did you do/use anything different this cycle? Thanks!

Thank you all for your support and kind words.

Yes Calvin girl did you do anything different would be good to know?

Yes I believe in a more natural approach, what will be will be. My partner was worrying me by getting a little too scientific!! Don't want to loose sight of the mystery and love around this that make itspecial.

I know if you have been trying a long time that must be difficult.

Do women here test once or twice a day on Ovulation tests? and what times of day?

My partner works nights, so encounters are rarely at night
Wink wink! if that makes a difference to timing of testing.

Thank you all! I'm at 13 dpo right now and for a day or two I was worried because my lines weren't getting darker as fast as Oscar's did. This one seems to be increasing more slowly, but it's still increasing. AF is due tomorrow and today's test is much darker (posted).

What I did differently:

1. I got a "Femvue HSG" procedure done the cycle before last - that's the saline HSG. It was painful, but not as much as I thought it would be. It showed one tube hopelessly blocked or spasming and the other was fine - the HSG can clean out mucuos or gunk that the ultrasound can't see, and it lifts the cilia hairs to let the egg travel down the tube better. You are supposed to have greater fertility chances for 3 months after.

Our next cycle, my cervix was still healing so I bled off and on all cycle - it was pretty miserable. But then it all stopped.

So this BFP cycle, we used our last month of Femara (5mg or something) and the last trigger shot Ovidril 250, and I'm on progesterone supplement suppositories. This helped me definitely ovulate on the good side.

Vitamins:
For the two months before I wasn't on femara, I was on Vitex.
This month I took: Prenatal, COQ10, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, B6, B12, Extra Folic Acid and Maca root.
Also we used PreSeed almost every time during the fertile period.

So...lots of factors. I didn't BBT, just used OPK strips to see when my surge was starting, and then took the trigger shot right before it was positive since I wasn't being monitored - my insurance wouldn't cover it (don't recommend this, but I'd been on this protocol a lot and knew how my body reacts to it.)

It's all a crapshoot I think. You have to find that ONE thing that's blocking you, and every factor has to be perfect. Now I'm through this first hurdle, I'm doing everything I can to pass the other ones - a sticky baby, a chromosomally healthy baby, an alive happy baby in the end. I'm crossing my fingers and toes for all of you to join me in this scary second step :)

Thank you, Calvingirl. Best wishes for a . If I'm not pregnant within a couple of months, I plan to start femara, next plan of action. I started taking b6 and vitex last week and I am giving that a shot first.

I've lost it already. Yesterday at 14 dpo, the lines looked fainter but I was hoping it was just diluted pee or something. Last night the frer was completely negative and the strip was faint. This morning I woke up crampy and everything is negative. Chemical pregnancy...I hate that term. It was real to me.

Back to the drawing board...
