2017 IUI/IVF

Hey ladies! I have an 18 month old daughter from my 6th round of IVF back in 2014 and we have started the process of trying for baby #2 in 2017. We may do a couple IUI rounds before using our frozen embryos from 2014. Any ladies who will be doing IUI or IVF in the new year?

Kmksmd : I love love love what DH said and I wholeheartedly agree with him... SO HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU!

"sweet DH turned to me and said “we have 10 embabies, you are a mother.” He’s so sweet and supportive with all my crazy emotions"

Thanks Kmksmd ! Yes I have called my specialist about the douches because this seemed scary to me but she confirmed that it has shown some results and it wouldn't hurt to try, as long as I am careful in the amount of sodium I use !

I know I will get used to the needles, I have to, I have no choice after all do I ? :) Thanks for answering me ! I'm sorry to hear you cried about mother's day, it's not Mother's Day yet in France but I'll feel just as low I'm sure... We have to keep up and stay hopeful :D

Hi Emiloki... welcome to the group and good luck on this journey.... sounds like you have a small problem so hopefully IUI will take care of it.

AFM unfortunately I ended up having a MC on Friday night. Was confirmed today by US. Have a follow up appt with my dr on Wednesday to see what is the next step. Since it is government funded I am really hoping I don't get placed in another waiting list again. Hope as soon as my body recovers I can go back to trying again.

Ma_espe, I am so sorry for your loss. Take some time to grieve and heal... I love your attitude that you will be ready to continue fighting for your miracle baby as soon as your body (and your government?!?) allows. You are in my thoughts and I am sending you so many virtual hugs. We are all here for you if you need anything.

Ma_espe : not the news I wanted to read, as I was virtually cheering you on BUT you inspire me and I feel honored that we're all on this journey with one another (as I don't believe in coincidences!) - I don't know why any of us face the struggles we do, but what I do know is that when we rise with courage, that should be acknowledged and applauded! So I salute you, I salute everyone in this thread, and I salute myself - If there's anything you need, we're here with ya

Well had my first Pap smear since my cervical cancer last summer and it came back abnormal:( . Was supposedn to do our 3rd iui this week but now need to put it on hold until after I get biopsies done . Better safe the sorry i guess , just feels like maybe it's just not ment to be

Two+1 on the way : definitely take care of you! Delay doesn't mean denial, so stay encouraged, get the biopsies done, and then decide on next steps...

This journey is one of so many starts and stops!! Take everyone!

Hello all! I just finished working my way through like 6 pages of messages lol. I have been MIA because my daughter had a stomach bug for a week and then of course I got it for like a week and 1/2 ughhh!

Ma-espe- What a rollercoaster! So sorry your little baby didn't make it . I have been there and know how devastated you must feel right. I just want to give you a big hug! Wishing you quick healing, both emotional and physical. For future tries... I had bright red spotting several times with my daughter right up til 13 weeks. Just try not to let this experience overshadow any future successful attempts.

Two+1 - Better to be safe and get it checked! I hope the biopsies come back clear.

Kmk- Did I read you have 10 genetically normal embies?! Awesome! When is transfer?

Emiloki- Bienvenue! I studied abroad in Tours about 10 years ago. I may be a bit rusty but I may be able to help with medical term translations if needed. Don't be afraid of the needles. Most don't even hurt, especially for IUI. The big needles aren't really needed unless you do IVF.

Futuredancemom - 2 of my retrievals were pretty pain free but 1 of them hit me pretty hard. If they offer you a narcotics prescription get it filled just in case! The first 2 I just took some ibuprofen and took it easy a day or 2 but the 3rd one I needed that Tylenol with codeine for like 3 days. It all depends...I will probably be doing an FET around the same time.

Jandei- Still waiting on results from this transfer?

AMF - Trying naturally seems to be a bust, no symptoms, but I am cd44 and no sign of AF. My longest cycle since my daughter has been 44 days so I'm not running out to buy a test yet. May try to squeeze in 1 more IUI if AF shows soon before doing an FET in July sometime. I may not have time if I have to start the work up for the FET soon (I started antibiotics about 45 days before transfer with my daughter)

Mnor, glad to hear that you and your daughter are feeling better! Stomach bugs are no fun. Yes! We have 10 normal little embabies (7 boys and 3 girls) waiting to come back to their mama! I have my hysteroscopy coming up Monday (5/22), I’m on BC now, then transfer will be tentatively 6/21 after starting the meds for transfer cycle in the next two weeks. I’m sorry your natural cycle was a bust this time. Is there a reason you were on antibiotics for so long prior to your transfer with your daughter?? I will be on antibiotics for hysteroscopy and FET but only 5 days each time. Its crazy to me how different all these protocols are!!

Two+1, I totally agree with you and Mnor, better to be safe than sorry with the biopsies. It sucks that this is going to delay your third IUI, but as my first RE told me, you have to make the room nice and ready for the baby to move in for 9 months. ;-) Keep us posted on what you find out!
