Current 11dpo looking for fellow first timers for support

Hi all, we have been TTC our first for 6 months now and I have been on these boards reading almost every single day, this process has now gotten so obsessive to me my DH is tired of me over analyzing everything only to be let down with a BFN every single month.

I'm 11dpo now, AF is due on Saturday (5/14) and I have taken probably 6 internet cheapies since 9dpo and I keep getting BFN. Every month I feel like I get the symptoms, then just chalk them up to AF time. This month has been a bit different:

0-7dpo: Not much change, I just noticed I was VERY gassy (like I am during AF) and bloated
8dpo: breasts got very tender and I was woken up to cramps during the night.
9dpo: breasts still tender, starting to get noticeable veins, mild cramps on and off again waking me up in the night. BFN (tested today because of Mother's Day, thought it would be a sign and a welcome surprise)
10dpo: Still bloated/gassy, breast tenderness goes down, veins disappearing, thick CM appears BFN
11dpo: Today - breasts only sore to the touch. Still bloated and gassy. No hints of anything else.

I am one who has VERY painful cramps at AF time and never thought I really cramped beforehand, the last few months I've gotten these mild cramps a couple of days early which then led to AF, but this time they were a full 7 days before AF which has never happened and I feel this is making me obsess even more.

I hope you ladies accept me into the community! I just know and hope having some support will help ease my mind and if another BFN pops up I know I will need the help to get through it and start from scratch again :(

Hi baby bump! I'm still waiting on AF to show. Of course she's late when I'm ready for her to show. Ready to be one step closer to my next try :-)

Hi Everyone.

I am new here and currently 11 dpo. I am trying so hard not to poas because the last few months has been so hard when I see the BFNs for days. This time me and DH are taking a different approach. We are so relaxed and calm. I waited this long and I have so many symthoms but I'm still waiting it out. Baby dust to you all!

Aaaaaaaand I'm back! HAHA!! Report cards, Parent-Teacher Conferences, wrapping up my co-teaching for a master's course, laundry, gym, blah blah blah....YIKES-time is flying by!

Ok, so I have a bit to share. I saw my endocronologist and overall test results were within (or nearly within) normal range except my LH. I was on CD 3, and normally during the menstrual phase, LH should be around <.05

Mine was 19.5!!! This is WAY too high and all those LH surges I was tracking over the months were probably inaccurate.

Anyways, with my age and the fact that we've been TTC since April, my endo recommended I fast track to a reproductive specialist. After doing some research, I chose an institute that has a stellar reputation and apparently my specific doctor is called "the baby whisperer"
A friend recommended him specifically. She has several friends he got pregnant THE FIRST TIME with IVF. One has no thyroid and was on hormones and another was at the onset of menopause! So my hopes are pretty darn high.

DH and I had a consult with him a few weeks ago. Dr mentioned that with my irregular cycles and my most recent 11 day AF (UGH!!), it's possible I have PCOS although other issues can have similar symptoms. He mentioned that with that AF, my uterine lining may be developing and shedding at different rates, rather than the development and 1 shedding that occurs for a normal cycle. He did some additional bloodwork and gave me a prescription for Provera to assist in normalizing the process. I'm taking it for 10 days and then will have AF within 2 weeks. I wanted to proceed with the Provera, since I have no indication of when AF will show again (it could be months!) and I'm anxious to get to CD 3 again for my ultrasound and additional bloodwork.

DH did his sperm analysis last week, so we are anxious for those results. During our consult, we mentioned that DH will be deploying in April. He is technically not going to a country with the Zika virus, but better safe than sorry (it would be a 6 month waiting period if so). Dr mentioned freezing sperm (if viable) so that I can continue with everything when he's gone.

A lot hangs on the additional testing, as we have no clue if it's just me, both of us, etc. It could be as simple as fertility meds or it could be IVF. At this point, I'm 100% on board for IVF and it's honestly the route I expect to take. Our current insurance only covers diagnosis of infertility, so we switched to a new plan (in effect Jan 1) that covers like, 90% of IVF costs. It's not likely we would begin IVF before the new year, so I'm ok with the wait!

I'm anxious and excited to move forward with making a baby (or 2)

Hi Sarah, sounds like you are well on your way. Did you get a private insurance plan? My insurance doesn't cover any infertility and it's all been out of pocket but I'm looking to find a plan that covers at least some of it? I will be doing my third IVF in January so hopefully we both will have a baby or 2 lol. Sounds like you have a good RE and I pray it just takes one time for you :-)

Thanks, lucky! So we are currently on DH's insurance, which only covers diagnosis when it comes to fertility coverage. We switched to an insurance plan offered by my job (I teach for one of the school counties here), since it's open enrollment. I'm so fortunate that my county offers plans that have IVF coverage! It makes sense to switch anyways, since DH will be deployed for 7 months next year and it's just easier to have everything on my insurance. His options (even Tricare for mil) don't cover any of that stuff.

I feel so fortunate to have an amazing RE and a support group of friends who have gone through this!

Fingers crossed your 3rd cycle of IVF works!! Hopefully we'll all be snuggling and loving on babies soon :)

Well I wish I could say I was updating with some actual news, BUT IM NOT.

I've been waiting for AF to come so I could schedule my next IVF appointment, today I'm cd28 and I usually expect AF anytime between cd25-cd29. According to the invasive procedure, my doctor guessed ovulation to be the 4th or 5th, which puts me at around 11 or 12 dpo (again). Starting about 7 or 8 dpo I had minor minor pink and light brown spotting...not unsual for AF to start like that. Then last night (tmi) when I wiped there was a glob of red with pink mixed in. I thought "yay AF is here, I can call the clinic!" and wiped again and sure enough, more was there. So I had a mini celebration, set my phone app for day 1 and went to bed prepared to wake up and schedule my appointment. Woke up..went to the restroom..NOTHING IS THERE. So I dug up in there, NOTHING IS THERE. WHERE DID IT GO??

So I was tricked by ...Still technically waiting.

Do you think the hysterscopy did something to make AF start so spotty and strange? I've also started that new thyroid medicine, has anyone else had side affects like this?

How is everyone else???

Hi baby bump,
The witch didn't want to show up for me either this month, she was a week late but finally appeared lol. I think the supplements I'm taking might have lengthened my cycle. After my hsg I don't remember it being late but it could have. Good luck and hopefully she gets here for you soon. Good luck! What's next with IVF? Will you start meds this month?

I'm still not sure!! I would assume so though, I've been waiting for AF to come so that I could schedule the visit that will lay out all of the upcoming time frames and everything. I feel like it's just taking so long even though its only been a little over 2 weeks lol

AF is back and I'm guessing this time for good! 2 more hours of students and then I can call the clinic! I'll update as soon as I talk to them. YAAAAY

Also this is the first time I've gotten to be happy about getting AF in a long time, it feels weird.
