Good to see all the good news and I agree it was a perfect time to rename the group! Must have been a good sign!

mela0054 I am pretty much in your same boat. No fertility stuff for us until at least Feb. Praying for a natural miracle at the moment! Are you doing anything special to boost your fertility naturally?

Good to hear you are keeping busy wilsonc! It really helps the time go by.

So redshadoe0 how did the trigger experience go for you? So excited for you! Maybe twins !

Good luck with the beach vac! Rememer to rest and take it easy! Vacations can get stressful! I can imagine it will be tough to keep it a seceret when you are with family all week! I am sure the huge on your face will be tough to cover up!

Any news for us on your journey KLS2010?

AFM Still waiting haha But I do have a question that I would like some input from you all on. I have a round of clomid left over at home from one of our cycles. If you were me would you try to use it? Most of my medicared cycles have been unmonitored. Let me know what ya all think!

Dolphin - Trigger went well!!! Haha, I let the hubby shoot me this time so maybe he'd feel a bit more part of this than a sperm factory hehe. He was so nervous and cute. Dork. But I triggered Monday.... I have a feeling I ovulated Monday night... I had some wicked sharp pains on my right side riiiiiiiight above my hip... I've NEVER felt that before so I'm wondering... It was like a sharp pinching pain that got way worse when I moved. It only lasted a few hours and it was gone. I *THINK* it was ovulation pains ... So either way, I'm either 1 or 2 DPO right now. PRAYING MY HIENIE OFF!!! I can't help but have a good feeling this month, even though the pessimist in me is sayin nope, not your turn.

Oh! And the doc agreed to put me on progesterone next week if the 7 day test comes back low (again). So that makes me feel a little more confident too. haha, I feel like I'm getting way ahead of myself though.

And as far as the extra round of clomid... what else you gonna do with it? Throw it away? If they've all been unmonitored and you WANT to try one more time, I say go for it!!! Maybe this'll be the cycle because you least expect it!

Hi ladies,

I'm new to all these procedures and things that you talk about. We are getting to the stage though (been trying for a year and nothing) that my husband I are going to have to start looking for a fertility specialist and get some tests done.

So my question is what sort of tests do we need to get done? I know they will start us off with blood tests to check hormone levels, and a semen analysis, but then what? What if they come back ok - what do they start looking at then? Or if they come back abnormal, what can be done to fix it? And what is this 'trigger shot' that has been spoken about?

Please excuse my ignorance!! I know that there are so many variables that could be the problem, and I probably asked too much for you to answer in this forum, but even if you could point me in the right direction to some links that would help, I would appreciate it!

AFM, I'm playing the waiting game. Due to start af on Saturday but of course hoping for !!! I was really excited about this month, we have BD like crazy and it was our 2yr wedding anniversary around the time I should have O, so of course I'm trying to be super positive- it would be great to finally get our BFP knowing we would have conceived around our anniversary. But still have that little voice in my head saying 'no, it's not going to happen'. So

Thanks ladies!!

hey dolphin1204, if i was u i think i would take the clomid dnt think i would be able to help myself tbh

hey redshadoe0, thats good your doctors are thinking about putting you onto progesterone if ur levels are still low that may help
good idea letting your husband do the shot will make him feel more involved
fingers crossed for u this cycle

hey mela0054, let us know how the acupuncture goes
hope doesnt show up

hey kls2010, im not sure if everyone is the same on here ive been going to my doctors for 1 year now and recently saw a gynaecologist only tests i have had done is blood work and smear tests i am now waiting to get a HSG done next to check my tubes are ok
i think trigger shots are hormone injections that make u ovulate not 100% sure bt sure the other ladies on here will explain them better
and this is your month and keep us posted

AFM the good start to my wk didnt last long AF showed up at the end of CD 39 i jst dont get it i was always regular before recently my cycle is all to pot
the other thing i was hoping you could help me with is about the hsg i read my paper work from my doctor then looked online and its completely different lots of women have said it is a very painful procedure and also on rare occasions your tubes can get irreversible damage caused so not sure i even want to get this done last night i broke down in tears just thinking how horrible this test is going to be

has anyone on here had a hsg done before any info would be appreciated thanks

KLS... here's been my experience.... blood work multiple times throughout the cycle. Semen Analysis. Maybe even an ultrasound or two. They'll probably put you on Clomid first... that seems to be a general "fix-all" consensus. They'll try that for a while and see what happens. A trigger shot is a shot of synthetic or natural HcG that is meant to FORCE mature follicles to rupture (force you to ovulate instead of holding onto follicles like some women do). Good Luck!!!

Wilson... I had an HSG done and it SUCKED. It hurt so bad. But the doc said it was probably worse for me because I had a polyp on the enterance to my uterus (they use a balloon to open your cervix, so the pressure of the balloon against the polyp killed). But I've heard of women saying it's only a little bit worse than a pap. But it's worth it to make sure your tubes are good! Try not to stress :( It'll be okay!!

Good work redshadoe0 on getting DH involved! If I ever do a trigger shot again i think I will ask DH to do it. I didn't like doing mine and it actually made me sick. When I had mine I think I Ovulated that same nigth as well. They say it is supposed to be 25-48 hours on the dot but I think mine was earlier. Knock that pessimist out will ya!

I have beening thinking about acupuncture as well mela0054. So keep us posted on the experience of that please!

As I told redshadoe0, knock that little voice out KLS2010! Positive thoughts only! It is also probably a really good sign you may have Od around your anniversary. Special days usually make people think positive! It would be great to have positive thoughts around O time!

Sorry about AF wilsonc. An HSG as you said is very different for everyone. Mine was very painful, but well worth it! I would suggest talking to your doctor about taking some pain meds (tylenol or advil) prior to the HSG. I didn't and really should have taken something. Mine felt like my period cramps on my first day of my period which usually requires about 4 advil every 6 hours to be semi comfortable. But I would be preapred! Don't let us scare you about it either as it is a good test and to know the results of it will help your journey wonders!

Thanks for the advice all! I think I will do it for our August cycle! I will keep you all posted!

Also KLS2010 I had bloodwork, DH had a semen analysis, and I had an HSG and ultrasound. All came back normal so we tried clomid which worked but I miscarried and had an ectopic. I then did a few more rounds of clomid before doing femera and a trigger shot. Now we are on a break. But that was our process for us. Should be similar depending on what they find. Hope this helps!

Yep.... pretty much the exact same as dolphin... clomid worked the first time but i miscarried. total of like 5 or 6 rounds of clomid before switched to femara and a trigger. I was diagnosed with PCOS though... they put me on metformin to see if that'll help my hormone levels even out. Otherwise, just the same ol same ol!
