Question

Has this happened to anyone else?

I got my first positive test on January 8th. I noticed that my tests weren't getting darker so I had a blood test. My HCG was 13 after 48 hours it had dropped to 7 and I started bleeding red. The red bleeding lasted for 3 days and went to brown spotting I assumed and still do that this is the end of this pregnancy. However I was told I needed to test the HCG out of my system. It was a level of 7 on Friday January 14. Today I got my lab sheet to go get my levels checked but decided to take another pregnancy test to see if they were negative yet. I took the test and it was clearly still positive. How could this be? After 48 my levels went from 13 to 7, I would think after 4 days my levels would be 0. Has anyone else had this happen?

I have not had this happen but have read stories of women who at first had two eggs implant, then one fails, so their numbers fall then start to rise again. I have no idea if this is what might be happening or if it’s even possible but if the lines darken I would get that lab test. Another possibility is the hcg left your blood and is still processing out through urine so the urine tests are catching up. If this is an early miscarriage, I am sorry for your loss.

Thanks! I did have another beta taken. This test was picking up an HCG of 3. I officially miscarried/chemical. The levels have dropped completely. I should be at 0 by now.
