Confused

So my last period was on Nov 30th that lasted for 5 days. I did spot at the end of Dec, Dec 25, 26, and 27th but it was so light I didn’t have to wear anything. According to my app on my phone I am supposed to start this Sunday. The app I have says I’m 29 days late if I don’t include the spotting as a period. I have no clue what’s going on. I do have a doc appt on the 2nd so if I don’t start then I’m gonna ask for a blood test.
