Fertility specialist appointment
Doing a quick update about my fertility appointment yesterday. The doc was super nice. She’s who I worked with when I got pregnant with little dude 7 years ago. She’s taking over my fertility care completely.
Since I started the low dose of Clomid a few days ago, they’re going to have me come in on Tuesday for an ultrasound and lab work to see if there’s a good follicle. If there isn’t, I’ll go back a few days later to check again. Two different things this go:
1) If there is no follicle by CD 20, I can do another round of clomid in the same cycle. I’ve never done that before.
2) Once there is a good follicle, I will be doing a trigger shot to force the egg to release. I’ve never done that, either.
If nothing happens this cycle, she’s happy to try the WHAMMY dose that worked last time. If nothing happens with one dose of that, she’s recommended doing the dye test to check that my tubes are open and clear. She said that test tends to clear things out and increase my chances of getting pregnant that cycle.
So, all in all, a great first appointment. I always worry I’m going to be told to wait and see, which is my most hated phrase. Instead, she was very proactive about everything!
