Missed period and ovulation question.

Today is CD 40 of a normal 28/29 day cycle. I took clomid/black cohosh and never did get a positive opk, so I'm clueless to what's going on. All hpt's have been BFN.So if I had an annovulatory cycle , should I expect to ovulate first? OR do I just wait for a period to show up sometime? I have never missed a period in my life except when I was pregnant, so this is all new to me.

I had the same thing happen randomly during a cycle a few years ago. Normal cycle is 29 days and I got my period on CD42. Never did understand why it happened... Was definitely not pregnant nor did I have a chemical (I tested obsessively). FX you get answers soon!
