Question

Opks getting dark again? Confirmed ovulation

I've been taking opks on and off since I ovulated for the heck of it. This morning I got a very dark one. I'm 4 dpo. I confirmed O with temping and opks. Any reason why?

You can have multiple LH surges in the month.

The only way to confirm O is the way you said, by temping and other signs along with the LH surge. I know from taking OPKs every day through a few cycles, that I have 2 and sometimes 3 surges in a month.

An OPK can sometimes show a pregnancy, but hcg has to be high to do so. Therefore you would already see it on a pregnancy test. I was about a week after a positive FRER before an OPK was positive from HCG.

It's very normal to have multiple surges. I tend to have one somewhere around the middle of, and/or at the end of my LP. My opk's typically go positive the day after I get a vvf BFP. My last child took almost a week before the opk was positive. It's a crapshoot when using them for that purpose. Hopefully u get some good news in the next week or so.
Good luck! =))
