Getting pregnant after giving birth

Hi,
I conceived last April and had my beautiful little boy at the beginning of January this year.

It might seem a little soon but me and my partner have already dexuded to start trying for another baby.

I was told it can take 6 months for periods to start again after birth but my cycle seems to have gone straight back to normal.

Is it true fertility can be higher after a pregnancy? If so has anyone successfully got pregnant after a pregnancy?
