Fear slowly trying to creep in...

Words can't describe how thankful I am to have gotten my BFP. First month ovulating, only 4 months TTC, and then confirmed at the doctor's office this morning. However, my health history is now creeping up into the back of my mind. My first daughter, who is now 10, was premature. They said it was most likely due to stress her father put on me. I was so sick in the first 4 month, I went down to 82 pounds from 118. Couldn't eat, drink, sleep, nothing! I went into labor 8 1/2 weeks early. They kept me in the hospital and in labor for 2 1/2 weeks before letting me deliver her 6 weeks early. She was very healthy and just perfect. Just on the small side. Second daughter, now 8, was full term and healthy as can be. That was a long time ago. Since then I've had TWO LEEP procedures due to dyplasia and hospitalized in ICU last year for blood clots in my lungs caused by my birth control. I'm so terrified of having an incompetent cervix now because of the LEEP and not being able to carry full term, or having blood clot issues if I have surges of estrogen during the pregnancy. I'm trying so hard not to stress. I know that will only make things worse. Just trying to think positive and pray for the best!

Worrying won't do any good. I recommend seeing a high risk specialist who will be able to give you the best care possible. "No risk no reward" always applies to TTC and pregnancy - nothing in life is risk free. Firstly we must do what we are responsible for and secondly we need to pray about all other concerns. Wishing you peace and comfort now, no worries, and a healthy pregnancy from start to finish.

Thank you Mozart! I go June 10th to get my cervix checked to see if it's stable enough. I'm feeling confident that everything will turn out ok!

Hopefully your doctor(s) can better assess your risks due to your history and give you a plan of action to care best for yourself and growing baby. Will be thinking and praying for your health.

Momma47123, don't worry, it's such a useless emotion. June 10th is very soon, and everything WILL be fine. There are things they can do for thin cervix's that will hold baby in, a friend of mine had stitches put in her cervix to hold it closed for her last trimester, painful but worth it, her baby is now 8 months old and healthy as a horse. This was meant for you, first month ovulating and BAM :) Enjoy it, your baby is snuggling in and getting comfortable. Praying for you that your anxiety will pass and you'll just enjoy this pregnancy. CONGRATULATIONS <3

Thanks rcola! I am so anxious for my first appointment to see what she says. Hopefully good news!
ELGtrying.. thank you very much. I have read on all the ways they can help mothers with a thin cervix. It isn't always a guarantee, but I'm just hoping that mine will be fine without stitching or bed rest. I am trying so hard not to stress. Last night the stretching between my hips was severe enough that I had no other thoughts in my head! I have chronic anxiety, but I think I'm doing pretty well at relaxing lately and just praying. :)
