Progesterone Question
I was going to post my question on a couple different forums, but I just honestly like the group of gals that are helpful on here much better. :) This is my first month taking progesterone. I am on day 6 of 10. I got pretty nauseated before lunch yesterday, because I was so hungry. Just slightly shakey, but it all went away about an hour after eating. Today, I almost fainted in the drive-thru. I ate 20 minutes ago, and I'm still shaking so bad I can barely write. Can anyone tell me if this is a common side effect of progesterone? I just want to know if I should be watching out for this in later months and maybe eating more times throughout the day than I do now.

Same here. I do get a little shakey from time-to-time right before lunch, but nothing to this extent. I almost parked my car in fear I would faint and cause a crash. I've eaten lunch and started snacking on chocolate covered popcorn that someone put on my desk at work, and I'm still shakey and starving! Then again... this is my first cycle ovulating, so that's why I am wondering if it's early pg since it didn't seem to start until I got that temp dip yesterday morning and my body is super sensitive to even the slightest hormone change.

None! The last 2 cycles my gyn has been doing the cd 21 progesterone bloodwork. It was 4.5, then 5.something. But this cycle my bbt has been running higher which is usually because of progesterone. My gyn won't put me on progesterone because she said my numbers are "okay" and the progesterone can mimic signs of early pregnancy and cause delayed periods.

Oic! I thought for some reason you were on it, but you were just saying your progesterone has been getting higher. I wasn't ovulating which was causing no progesterone rise, so my periods were anywhere from 1-9 days late and lasting anywhere from 1 day to 10 days. So she just put me on it to start regulating my cycle and would wait to see if it helped before starting Clomid in 3 months. Then a miracle happened, and by coincidence I happened to ovulate naturally the day before I started the progesterone. Scheduling was PERFECT! But since I ovulated, I'm wondering if there's too much progesterone now since my body is probably producing it as well this cycle. :(

Maybe so, maybe between your natural and the prescription it is just too much. My gyn said that if I had had a luteal phase defect she would gladly put me on it, but my lp is usually 14 days long, so it's perfectly normal and my periods are between 4-6 days usually. I wanted to go on progesterone after my 1st cd 21 bloodwork, but she didn't want me too. Apparently the Clomid is helping my progesterone levels. This is my 2nd Clomid cycle and my bbt has been above normal since ovulation. I should get my cd 21 results back tomorrow or Friday and I'm hopeful I'm nearer to 10 this time.

I had mild side effects from progesterone but nothing like that. I felt more of breast tenderness but the shakes?... sounds to me like low blood sugar or low iron or b12 levels. I would get a full blood work up to see what the deal is. I get hypoglycemia out of nowhere sometimes. I have been diagnosed with anemia and low b12 levels too but again it doesn't happen all the time. Usually when I start getting the symptoms like yours, I start with foods (orange juice works fast!) and if not better after an hour, I take my b12 vitamins and the symptoms subside after a few hours. Hopefully you get your answer soon! Good Luck!
