Jennc- :( Sorry to hear about AF. I found that cramps were much worse on Clomid, too. I hope you're able to rest a lot today.

AFM- I went to the doctor this morning to talk about the HSG test I had last week and discuss further treatment. She agreed that the left tube is blocked, but maybe the contrast dye flushed it out. She also gave me 6 more months of Clomid. So, after this one month break I'm going back on it. Isn't three months, then six more a lot of clomid to take? I always thought that you weren't supposed to take more than 6 months in a close period of time.

I hope things get cleared out for your tubes. So sorry that one is blocked. And yea that does seem like a lot of clomid. My doctor said that I could only do 6 cycles of clomid, then wait a whole year before I could take more. I'd definitely use precaution with that, because I've read that it can increase your chances of ovarian cancer.

Felurian, I always heard it was 3 months in a row and then a break then another 3 months. I would definitely take it for the next three months if I were you, to take advantage of the increased fertility that can come after an hsg.

Thanks Lisserb. I'm definitely going to try for that increased fertility from the hsg. I thought I had read somewhere that fertility is increased for three months after the hsg test, but I asked my doctor about it and he said it would only be increased for a month. Have you ladies heard anything about how long the hsg might increase fertility for? I'm really impatient and nervous with waiting for O to get here. I'm on CD 11, so I've still got a few more days before I should start to worry (I think). But I'll be devistated if I wasted my increased fertility because I decided to take a month off of clomid, and didn't ovulate. Still praying for that BFP!!! Trying not to stress about ovulation, just am very anxious. I didn't ovulate before clomid, and my cycles varied on lengths, anywhere from 29 days long to 49 days long. Keeping fingers crossed for the big O to arrive. Just a few more days, I think I'm just worrying myself right now. I guess I felt like I had a little bit of control with taking clomid and I really enjoyed that.

Jennc2005~Clomid cramps were the WORST for me! I feel your pain!

JamieNix~ for open tubes!! I heard it could increase fertility for up to 3 months after an HSG test. I have a friend that became pregnant 2 months after her HSG and she wasn't on any fertility meds. I had my HSG last summer and my tubes were clear as well but unfortunately no bfp for me. that it helps you!!

felurian~my specialist said 3 months on Clomid, then a break then 3 months again and that's it. If it doesn't work after that many he said it's a very low chance that it will ever work and it would be time to look into other alternatives. Clomid does have some scary side effects after prolonged use.

has arrived right on time for me. This was my first cycle that my bbt chart was very accurate. It's also the first time it has been biphasic! I think I have finally gotten the hang of it and I am into the routine of plugging the thermometer into my mouth as soon as my alarm goes off. I don't even think about it anymore!

Jamienix-wonderful news....now for that bfp. I know absolutely nothing about HSG testing, but it sounds hopeful for you.

Felurian- my ob/gyn will only give 3 months of clomid and then moves on to other things.

It seems like has had a little too much fun in this forum. She needs to stop showing up so we can get more bfps!

Thanks for your input, everyone. I have the prescription for six months, but nothing says I have to use it all. I think I'll just wait to see what happens before I decide what to do :) Maybe I'll get my BFP and won't even need to worry about it!

Sorry about AF babylove. Thank you for the input on the 3 months length of increased fertility from the HSG test. I'm feeling hopeful.

Felurian ~ My Dr. will allow me to do 6 months in a row, then a year break from clomid. I did 4 months in a row, now taking a break, but if I don't get my BFP this round, I'll do two more rounds of clomid.

Praying for BFPs all around.

Hello ladies! Finally home from my 2 weeks of family visiting.

I wish my doctor would let me do 6 months of clomid. Not sure if dh and I will go further If clomid doesn't work. We have a wonderful little boy and always said if it happens great, if not then we have our ds. I really want one more though.

AFM, started round 2 of 50mg of clomid tonight. Hope this round works.
