Last Round of Clomid. HCG Shot. Cycle Buddies??

I am on my last round of Clomid, and things are... interesting...

I went to my dr today for an ultrasound to see how far my follicles have dilated (my dr is looking for 1.8cm). Curiously enough, he found two eggs cysts (right at 1.5 and left at 1.2). My DB and I decided to go through with the HCG injection since we have been trying (since last year), but to no avail. So, my dr. wants me to come back for another ultrasound Wednesday morning and if one of follicles is 1.8cm dilated he will administer the HCG shot... However, if the they are both at that size, as he puts it, my chance to have twins "is not insignificant." I'm kind of excited about the idea actually :)

SO - I guess if I get the shot on Wednesday, I will ovulate on Thursday 5/23. Any I am certainly welcoming any cycle buddies :)

Also, if you have any questions about Clomid, and have any information about the HCG shot, I'd love to chat!

Best wished to everyone!

Aw, man! You totally just jinxed it! You wrote BFN!!! Hahahahaha, I know what you meant. I LOL!

So, another close work friend disclosed that she is pregnant. Due in April. SHOCKER! That's when they ALL have kids!

I went into the infant room, too, at my work. So unhealthy for me to be there. But I took a picture of the 14 cribs all lined up together and sent it to my DH. Now he can't think I'm exaggerating!

So, I was told not to test until 14 days after the IUI. Do you think I should test sooner? No. I can't handle that on a work day (if I can avoid it).

Good luck, Jill! Sarah, how are you?

Missy miss...are you so happy BD is over for now?

Courtney - That 2ww is horrible. I drive myself nuts waiting and searching for charts on FF that resemble mine. I tell myself that I am not going to do it or test early, but I always cave. It's tough seeing people around you getting pregnant left and right. I had 3 people on my Facebook that gave birth the last 2 weeks of September. Then yesterday another lady posted that they are expecting. It's very depressing. Sometimes I feel if I didn't work and had no means whatsoever to care for a baby, then I would probably get pregnant. I see a lot of people in those cases and the seem top pop out babies one after another.
Lots of to you and everyone else as well.

Missy - Yay for the +opk. Somethings got to give eventually.

Jill - Wonderful news on your insurance coverage. Hopefully you will conceive without the need for IVF. I'm amazed that my insurance covers drug abuse and rehab but not infertility. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great if someone needs help paying for rehab, but that coverage is useless to me.

AFM - this was suppose to be my last cycle of clomid, but when I went to the pharmacy after work on Friday to pick up the clomid rx, I was informed that my doctor's office failed to call it in. It was after hours so I couldn't call the nurse and by Monday I was too late in my cycle to start the clomid. I was a bit furious. I felt like everything is working against me. I'm still going to try this cycle without it and see how it goes. You never know.

thanks for all the love, but it didn't work : (

I got AF today during a work training I couldn't leave from. They f-ing made you take a quiz at the end of the day in order to get credit. Excuse my language.

I am so miserable and I don't even have a moment to heal. I have to go in to the hospital tomorrow for a baseline ultrasound. I mean, again, I'm so happy I GET to go into the hospital. But it's just so depressing all the same.

: _ (

Hope everyone is so much better than me.

Oh, Court :( I'm sorry, and I'm doubly sorry that you weren't in a situation where you could leave and be alone, with your dh, or snuggled up in a blanket. I think we have all become more than aware that mother nature does not pull her punches; she gives them to you full force. Sorry today was such a sucker punch.

Things aren't so simple for me. I am 5dpo and my temps are fine, so I should be feeling at least somewhat positive, but the blood pressure issue has really come to a head today. As some of you have read, I have always had anxiety and migraine issues, and took daily medication for them for years. But, when my bf and I decided to ttc, I got off of everything. Now, my blood pressure is high - dangerously high. I've been on and off and upped medicines more than 6 times since March. They just doubled the latest one last week, and by today I was retaining so much water and the swelling in my ankles was so bad that I drove to the dr's office. I couldn't take off my shoes for fear that I wouldn't be able to get them back on. My blood pressure was so high and the swelling so bad that they sent me home and gave me a note for work tomorrow - simply so I can take diuretics and keep my feet elevated. Not a fun day.

My dr., who is well aware that I am ttc, keeps telling me that this is a HUGE problem not only in actual conception, but if we do conceive while we don't have a handle on the blood pressure, it would be extremely high risk.

:'( We are going to have to re-prioritze.

Today was the first time that the drs suggested we wait until we figure out the blood pressure before we continue trying to have a baby.

:'(

Just more problems, more decisions, more heartache, and more doctors. It's just exhausting.

Have you tested yet Jill??? If not, how many more days do you have left?

Sarah - I have the same obsessions with looking at similar charts on FF. Fertility Friend has never been real 'friendly' to me though. Also, don't be too upset about the month off the Clomid -- it does stay in your system for a little while, and I've been unusually regular for the two months since my last cycle on Clomid. I hope you have the same luck with having regular 'O's, but better luck with getting a bfp. Oh, and Sarah - the topic of what insurance pays for and doesn't pay for INFURIATES me, but it is all about their bottom line - things like rehab, elective tubal ligations/vastectomies, and abortions are readily covered b/c they will save money in the long run. Helping a woman have a baby will only incur the company more costs. Sad, but true. I have no problem with health insurance covering those health related problems, but I just think they should play fair.

Good luck with your appointment tomorrow, Court -- and happy, positive thoughts to all you ladies :)

Hello Ladies,

Missy - I'm sorry to hear about your BP issues!!!! And I agreee with your DR - you need to get that under control before you get pregnant!! I work as a respiratory therapist in a NICU and we see moms deliver really early (24 weeks or sometimes soon ) due to high blood pressure. The last thing you want is to get pregnant and have a micropremie because your BP was high! There are lots of great drugs out there and some are even approved for pregnant women (Lebatoal - note sure of spelling - is one of them). Maybe getting your BP under control will even help with the ttc process.

Court - I am so sorry to hear about . I really thought this month was it for you!

I'm not far behind you. I'm currently CD 11 but I started spotting on cd9 which is usually a sign is on her way. I also tested yesterday and got a . I think I should start sometime this weekend. I have an appt to see the specialist on the 22nd and they want me to continue on the clomid this cycle. I'm think I'm going to try to take it a day or so earlier - 3-8 maybe. I heard that taking it earlier gives you more folliles but not as big??? Hopefully the RE has some better answers and a better plan!
and ladies!!

Just checking in with everyone! Jill, did you get the dreaded AF? I sure hope not.

Sarah, how are you doing?

Mis, my darlin, is BP any better today?

As for me, I started the shots yesterday. I'm on the lowest dose, rather than the second lowest dose. Kinda annoyed...if 5 follicles didn't work, why would we want less? hmmm....

Why is it short weeks are doubly exhausting?! It's only tuesday!

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone is doing well!

Missy - anu luck with your BP? I hope it's down!!!

Court - Hope the shorts are going well this month and they aren't making you feel sad.

AFM - The finanlly showed up today in full force! I'm taking it pretty well all things considered. I just felt out all month. I really had no symptoms at all un til a few days before af was due. I think I had a harder time finding out that my giant follicle was probably tooo big and over mature and therefore my chances were zip again. I'm just glad the is finally hear and I can move onto another cycle.
I have an appt with the RE on the 22nd and I'm hoping that he can help! My OB/GYN wants me to keep taking the clomid again this month. He didn't change the dose since the follicle was so large to begin with. I think my appt with the RE will be on cd 13 - so if he does an u/s maybe he can tigger me that day if things look good???
I due think I'm going to take the clomid a day earlier. I normally take it days 4-9 but I take them at night. I figure going to the night before may help???

and that everyone has a good week!!!

Jill

Hello Everyone!
Hope everyone is doing well.
Missy - I hope your BP is doing better and that you are trying again. ??
Court - How are you doing? How did the second round of shots go? Are they still effecting your mood alot? I've had my fingers crossed for u that things workl this cycle!!!!
AFM - Had my appt with the RE last week. I lkie him. He's very nice anf very through. He order some blood tests and he's incresing my dose of clomid to 100 mg next month. If that doesn't work then he wants to give 2 months of Fermara a shot before we change to something else.
I actually took my clomid a coule days earlier this month (cd3-7 instead of 5-9). It did help me to ovulate 3 days sooner which I'm hoping is a good sign! I didn't have anultrasound though so I'm not sure if a had any good follies.
Anyway, trying to stay positive and lokking forward to the holidays and spending time with family! I hope things are going well for all of you!

Hey Jill and other ladies :)

As for me, my bp is out of control... there are possible other (non-gyno) medical things going on that have me thoroughly freaked out. I'll have a better idea (maybe) when a few tests come back in a day or so. I've just started with the opks to go natuaral again this month... we'll see. I doubt with my bp being so high (steady around 160/110), it is even healthy for me to try - but we've been unsuccessful for so long, it almost seems so impossible that I'd feel strange if we didn't give it a shot.

Court - I know that you are hanging in there as best you can. How are things moving forward? Any change in plans as to how things are working?

I'm glad that things are going forward with a doctor you like, and you have a good plan to keep moving.

Good luck to you ladies -- my fingers are crossed for us all :)
