Last Round of Clomid. HCG Shot. Cycle Buddies??

I am on my last round of Clomid, and things are... interesting...

I went to my dr today for an ultrasound to see how far my follicles have dilated (my dr is looking for 1.8cm). Curiously enough, he found two eggs cysts (right at 1.5 and left at 1.2). My DB and I decided to go through with the HCG injection since we have been trying (since last year), but to no avail. So, my dr. wants me to come back for another ultrasound Wednesday morning and if one of follicles is 1.8cm dilated he will administer the HCG shot... However, if the they are both at that size, as he puts it, my chance to have twins "is not insignificant." I'm kind of excited about the idea actually :)

SO - I guess if I get the shot on Wednesday, I will ovulate on Thursday 5/23. Any I am certainly welcoming any cycle buddies :)

Also, if you have any questions about Clomid, and have any information about the HCG shot, I'd love to chat!

Best wished to everyone!

YAY MISSY!v You made my day! So glad your temp shot up! It is TOTALLY possible to have a longer cycle...an O is an O is an O!

Glad you're headed to a bridal shower and not a baby shower...and glad you're going to help yourself to a glass of wine. Good luck with all the questions. :/

Thank you for helping me be positive. I went to a yoga class this morning that I was dreading -because I dread exercise- but it was amazing. Going to try to go weekly, even though it's expensive.

As for meeting the hubby...what a great idea! We have a crazy story...

So, DH and I met at a Red Sox game. I was on a date with another guy and it was not going well at all. When he got up to take a business call, DH and his brother were behind me and struck up a conversation with me. I immediately got up (feeling gutsy thanks to beer) and started talking and sat next to them. Long story short, I asked DH if he would take me on a date. He said yes and gave me his # (he tells me now he thought I was cute-but crazy to be so forward) Anyway, that night, I lost his number and went home bummed. Not only had I been wasting time with this other guy, and that was surely over, but I didn't have a way to get in touch with DH, no number, last name, nothing...

Well, 9 months later we were set up on a blind date. Yup. This handsome guy walked into the restaurant sweating bullets and said, "Hi, it's nice to see you, I have to tell you something, I think we know each other..." all in one breath.

What's even crazier is that the woman who set us up had been heckling DH to go out with me for months, a year maybe. And he always told his mom and this woman (her friend) to leave him alone. After the game, DH had gone home to his mom and actually said, you know, I met a girl at the red sox game, so you can stop trying to set me up. Of course, I never called...

I can't wait to hear your stories! and all about your appt Dree!

Missy- take your own advice and go get BDing!

Well, the temp has stayed up :D SUPER, super happy! IF I did O on the 27th, my bf and I couldn't have timed things better. Here's to hoping!

Yoga is great, Court! So relaxing and good for you - maybe you could find a Living Social or Groupon deal, I know that yoga comes up often; although, I don't know what they may (or may not) offer in Nantucket.

What a great story about you and your DH, Court!! Sounds like kismet to me :) Very, very cool indeed!

My bf and I have a pretty crazy story about how we got together, too :) We actually graduated high school together, same class and everything. We ran in totally different circles, knew of each other, but really weren't even friends. After high school, he went into the Navy and I got out of Virginia as fast as possible! Went to college near Pittsburgh, lived in the UK for a while, moved back to the states to West Palm Beach, but decided to come back home and closer to family in Virginia. I went to a Cinco de Mayo festival in Richmond and saw him. I told the friend I was with, "Hey, I think I went to high school with that guy." We struck up a conversation, and he invited me to come over to his place to watch his band practice - he was actually living with a couple more people we graduated with... I ended up joining the band as their singers and he was the drummer, and we struck up a little romance and have been together ever since. :) Ahhh, how I love that guy :)

I showed him my bbt chart today. He just thought it was the coolest thing :) Way too cute.

What day are you going to be testing, Court??? Don't get me wrong, I am excited about possibly O'ing, but it has thrown off my plans to test on our birthdays :( My bf's is Friday and mine is Sunday :( I guess I'd be 9dpo on my bday; so, I just might test anyway.

Hope things are going well, and your pre-poppy is getting ready to be a reality!

Missy, that's great news! My temp dropped yesterday and shot up today, so I'm pretty sure we timed things right.

I'm not sure when I'll test. I have to see about guests/visitors. In all reality, I'd prefer to just watch my temperature and save money on the tests. They're $9 EACH here.

On the other hand, if I have guests Sunday night and monday, I'll test tuesday. If I don't have guests, my guess is I won't be able to hold off...

Great story about DH. Glad he was so interested in the BBT chart! So cute!

Dree? Still anxiously awaiting what happened at your appt!

Just a quick reply, Court -- I get my hpts from amazon. 3 of the early response tests are only $12. I've added the link for you below :)

(For some reason it is saying that it only contains 2 tests, but the description says 3 - and it has always come in a package of 3 for me.)

awesome, thanks for the tip. Do they come in regular amazon boxes? I've hesitated to buy them on other sites online because I live in a condo. I am just not up for getting anything that says 'baby' on it somewhere in the communal mail. :)

Hope you're all well.

Court - if you use the link that I sent, it will DEFINITELY come in a box with an Amazon return label... However, Pre-Seed's packaging is not very discreet :\ (at least not from Amazon anyway :) )

Wait, seriously?! But it's supposed to be from amazon! Man oh man...see why I'm so nervous?!

Anyway, thanks so much. I'll have to try it out!

Mis, when are you testing this month?

Well, the packaging wasn't totally amazon's fault. I ordered the Pre-Seed from a different vendor (who sold through amazon), who apparently wanted to announce their business all over the box. The hpts are from the amazon warehouse, and it is impossible to know what is inside. Also, I order my opks from there, too. I think they are a pretty good price.

As for testing - I'm going to be testing EARLY... just b/c it is our birthdays - I'm going to test Friday (my bf's b-day). I will be 7dpo; so, undoubtedly it will come back negative. Then, I will test again on Sunday the 5th - my b-day - 9dpo still a early, but ??maybe?? If that is a bfn (which I am sure it will be) - I am going to wait for the 10th. Honestly, I don't think that this is going to be the month for me. I'm still not 100% that I did ovulate -- although my temp has been up, so that's good, right??

How is everything else going for you, Court?

Dree, are you still out there??

That makes sense about amazon.

As for testing, I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you that you'll get a BFP on one of your birthdays. Just make sure that you aren't setting yourself up to be disappointed for your special day. What are the % chances of positive on those days?

I'm wondering where Dree went?! I hope she's ok.

HEY LADIES!!!

Oh my god. I am still alive but have been SO busy. I work full-time (as an executive assistant) and also run my photography business on the side (when I'm not at work) so... I'm quite busy during the summer!!

Man, I read through all your messages and I will NEVER go longer than a day without writing something or reading because I'll be so far behind on everything!

Congrats on the job Missy! and the successful temping - you must be so happy. As for me, I'm still not temping and I feel GREAT about it. As I had said before, it was getting too much and now I feel way more relaxed :) I will still do the OPKs when I'm around day 14 but not until then (cause I usually O around CD23).

Ok... first things first. APPOINTMENTS, TESTS, ETC. lol

Thursday: M and I went to our appointment at 9:20 and we met with Dr. Jackson http://www.conceive.ca/aboutus/index.php?lang=en&link=AaronJackson She was really nice and totally relaxed and positive. She asked Martin a couple questions and told him his results (above average and really positive) and told him he didn't need further testing. Then she asked me a million questions which ranged from "are my periods regular" to "have you noticed any above average hair growth" or "are you lactating". I'm not uncomfortable when it comes to that and especially when it's for the betterment of our situation. After all the questions were done, she looked at my follicular test results (CD3) and said that those results were very normal and that judging from my irregular periods, I probably had PCOS. I freaked a bit but then she relieved me and said it was very normal and even in my age group. She said it can usually be helped with Clomid. I asked her about my CD21 resutls but she said she didn't have them. Later though, I found out that my progesterone level on CD21 was 3.6 which is extremely low (makes sense since I don't think I O'd that cycle). After we talked and asked our questions, she gave me a pap smear and sent me for bloodwork to test for HIV and a whole gamut of things. We then met with her administrator (where we found out my progesterone test results) and she booked us for like 4 more tests.

Friday, July 27: They booked me an appointment for an ultrasound of my ovaries where the sonographer took photos of my ovaries and I guess took a count of my eggs? It wasn't so bad but I didn't like that I couldn't get any information from her... she just took photos and told me I had to wait until my doc wrote the report.

Wednesday, August 1: Yesterday I went in for my 2nd ultra sound... I can't remember what it's called but I can tell you ALL about it. Basically, the procedure started on Tuesday night, when I had to take some antibiotics to prevent infection. The morning of the ultrasound, I took 2 advils to prevent pain and arrived at 9AM with M for support. I was terrified... I layed down on the table and the doc came in to explain was to be done. She put in the speculum (not fun), cleaned around my cervix with a swab (oww.. lots of pressure) and then inserted a catheter inside my uterus (cramping). THEN, she took out the speculum (relief, lol) and the sonographer inserted the long wand into me so they could see what was going on. It was SO cool... they inject bubbly saline solution in the catheter and you can actually see a bunch of bubbles escape through my tubes!! LADIES, MY TUBES ARE FREE AND CLEAR! wooooo. It was a good day... except that I was major crampy for the rest of it.

So far, those are the appointments I've had. To come, I have another CD21 bloodtest on August 13 and then we go to see Dr. Jackson on August 21 for our diagnosis and our treatment options - YAY!

What I like about the clinic is that everyone is so calm and positive and they are just so happy for everyone who goes through their doors. They really want EVERYONE to have a baby. It's amazing.

Missy, Canadians are very lucky when it comes to insurance. My province covers all consultations with the doctor, semen analysis, blood work, and some meds. Plus, my DH and I's insurance plans covers a lot too. What wouldn't be covered would be IUI & IVF (but if my tubes were blocked, the province would pay for 3 treatments). I'm sorry things are more difficult for you...:( My thoughts are with you and your BF while you figure this all out.

My DH have a pretty interesting story too, but this message is already long enough! PS. Your stories are AMAZING. Court, it's like a freakin movie!

Missed you girls,
Dree
