When should I take a pregnancy test?

So back in December I had sex two days before my period was due, and then my period was a week late and it wasn’t really a period. I spotted for three days and that was it. I personally don’t think I’m pregnant but I have no kids so I don’t know how it would feel. But I just need to know when I can take a test.
